but users shouldn't have to assume. It should be detailed somewhere.
Bro, do u even UK TT?
-
• #12803
Rider speed probably make a difference. Faster riders will be slowed relatively more by the 2 turns and speeded up less by the downhill.
-
• #12804
Yeah, and after what, 6-7-8 years of TTing is this feckin' country I still have no idea how it all works. They're embracing new tech, let's make it user-friendly while we're at it.

• #12805
If you are who I think you are, they didn't seem to slow you down too much on Saturday though!
-
• #12806
Thanks. It was certainly a nice day on Saturday, though just a fraction faster would have been good!

• #12807
What's the deal with estimating a time for CTT? Seems a bit silly.
No idea what sodding time I'll do in the H100/88
-
• #12808
I mean I don't want to seem billy the big and bang 3:30:00 in the box. But then again, It's not going to take me 4 hours either.
I'll go with 3:45:00. I did a 25 on there years ago on a shit day and did a 52. -
• #12809
Give them your other distance times and then guess a 100 time. Simple.
You'll do a 3:45-3:55 yeah?
-
• #12810
But you can't enter other distances and times. You're forced to make up a time and tick the estimate box.
I said 3:45. Which is about right. But it's silly estimating. The should just seed you based off actually LTS results, which is what they will do. In essence, the website needs changing. AS I bet organiseres will ignore the estimate thing, due to people always looking at their efforts with rose tinted glasses.
-
• #12811
Dunno, I think estimated times with LTS is useful. My LTS is 3:49 but I don't think I'll do that in the Hounslow.
-
• #12812
There are so many variables, who knows what they'll do. If there were not variables it'd be good.
Person A might estmate what they'll do on a float day.
Person B might estimate what they'll do on a fair day.
Person C is just deluded and thinks they're a world champ. -

it's silly estimating
It has some benefit if people give realistic estimates (and in most cases, they probably do). The estimate is only used for field placement purposes, mostly to avoid giving number 119 to somebody who is going to take six hours.
-
• #12816
I'm sure it has a field for 'Comments' and there used to be other fields for other distances so they could estimate a finish time. I've always managed to get a ride, even if I've entered the wrong thing first...
The should just seed you based off actually LTS results
You don't have an LTS result so how is that supposed to work?
-
• #12817
Do I need to wear a gum sheild for the h100?
Should I wear a 2nd pair of bib shorts?
Should I run 80psi to reduce the bumps?
All of the above? -
• #12819
I get in because it's not a full field. And seed me off LTS from other distances.
-
• #12820
No, well maybe, but you shouldn't be riding head-down.
No, HTFU.
You could probably get away with 80psi. I've got 20kg+ on you and I only run 6-7bar, depending on how lazy I am with the pump.

• #12821
So it's all worked out in the end. That wasn't so hard was it? :)
-
• #12822
Im more serious news, I passed some people on saturday and they had a really good seat mounted rear light, that was small.
What is the testers choice of light? As it was really effective, and I felt bad having no light after seeing theirs.@hippy all works out in the end. But if it really was working out, I'd be getting into the E2, without having to break my teeth in on the H88. Due to giving an audacious estimated time.

• #12823
Yeah, but then every Tom, Dick and Harry would just try and bullshit their way into events and the people who've earned a place (you, eventually) will be fucked off when you miss your spot because someone lied on their form.

My setup:

Exaclty. I'm doing the honest thing.
But I saw Nuggets post on ttforum saying he was ignoring estimated times :(Light update.
I think it was the exposure flare with the saddle rail mount.
That's what I thought. I assumed 150 was the main event, but users shouldn't have to assume. It should be detailed somewhere.
