Yeah, that's basically my thinking too - since the hubs are usually Novatec, and therefore decent enough, the downsides are quickly diminishing. If you're worried about aerodynamics and mudguards, just start talking about mud clearance instead ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@Dammit, how much time did you spend in the wind tunnel with the Time Machine?
@pleaderwilliams yup, more often than not they look rubbish, but nothing looks as rubbish as being soaked in mud and road grit feels. I want one wheelset for cross and road, and if I can get deep carbon for that, why not eh?
My reasons for not getting Chinese carbon are diminishing now I've got a bike with discs. No dodgy braking, no wearing the rim down every time I brake.
Only thing holding me back is I'd be sticking them on my 4S disc commuter with SKS Longboards. Would I be aero neutral with 50mm crabon?
