Seems like 28c is the max red 22 brakes can take. Time to go back to shimano Di2 me thinks. As much as I love sram double tap, recabling is always a fucking shit of piss on it. Why would Sram make it so difficult to route cables back in...Caad12 cabling, took me a couple of hours to get the internal done. I dont have the tools to get the bottom bracket off so I had to fish it out of this narrow hole.

How bad is the internal routing? I find that more modern the frame, easier it is. Its really easy on my Emonda.
I'd check tyre clearance with brakes. Red brakes are notorious for not being able to accommodate larger tyres.
