Dan Ess promised me cake if I beat my course best (set the day after the infamous Norf 100).
I knocked 12 minutes off it so I had a bloody lovely piece of Guinness chocolate cake.
The ride itself was grim. I was broken from the start (glutes and dead left leg came back to haunt me) and had dipped about 20W off my best power and then when I noticed it might be close to a PB I lifted for the last 10mi but missed by overall PB by 30 seconds.
