According to Mr Lenerd Zinn I can use any type of 11 speed cassette with any drive train...
Apart from Zinn, has anyone tried this, recommend it? I would welcome not paying campagnolo tax from this point onwards...

I've been running an 11 speed Shimano cassette on an otherwise Campag equipped bike since last summer. It all works fine.

Bearings! @mdcc_tester you love this stuff, right?
Powertap bearings:
6902-2RU,28X15X7mm £6ea
6802-2RU,24X15X5mm £5ea"or we can offer you premium quality INA/SKF bearings at £18.00 each"
Are INA/SKF bearings a brand or type of bearing? Are they better? Are they likely to last 3x longer than whatever their standard options are?

Random thought. When pro riders go to training camps - what kind of visa do they get? I see that Wiggins/Cav and co. are in the USA. Technically they are there to work, do they need some kind of working Visa or an ESTA?
-
• #76167
I assume they're still being employed by a UK company though so are there on an ESTA for the purposes of work.

INA and SKF are brands yes, and SKF in particular produce quality bearings
as to codes:

"or we can offer you premium quality INA/SKF bearings at £18.00 each"
Is that including fitting? If not, the price seems high, but the other prices are about double what you'd usually pay for no-brand bearings too.
I generally use SKF bearings because why not, the price premium is modest and at least you know what you're getting.

That's bearing cost only. Would I be able to ID the better bearings, visually? Would they last longer?
The cost of bearings is almost irrelevant given the hassle of sending the wheel off...

Would I be able to ID the better bearings, visually?
Yes, by seeing the SKF logo on the packet :-)
-
• #76172
They'll be installed into a wheel, smarty pants.

6902-2RU
..you get the idea..
-
• #76174
I just want to make sure they've actually used the better bearings if I pay for them. I wondered if they looked different.

sometimes the skf / other mfrs logo is laser etched, sometimes..
send the wheels to me, i'll bash out the old cartridges and drift in some new skf-a-like ones for forty quid.. ;)
I've done a line drawing as my wedding invite design, I've scanned it in and cleaned it up using GIMP.
Now I want to put it on a5 size canvas and add all the writing and that jazz, is GIMP still the best software to use for that (that's free) or is there something that's easier that I should be using?
