Condolences.

I reckon Pep is gonna come unstuck at Man City. He's not really had that much of a challenge yet. I'm not saying EPL is more of a challenge but Barca and Bayern are the best teams in their leagues fairly consistantly. Man City are a very expensive car boot sale that sometimes turns up some gems.
He should take on a real challenge and become Villa boss.
Plus he seems like a prick (see Bayern's medical team).

The real, genuine challenge would be becoming Chelsea or United boss.

dubtap
So counting last 1/3 of last season and into this one how does that 50 game run of form compare to anything anyone has done in the PL before?
The year we went close saw us finish the second half of the previous season 2nd in the league. That momentum took to 2nd the year after. We really lost the league at Palace. That was the dagger.

The year of the > 30% possession...
I want Atletico get a CL win. Hope they fuck up real Facsit.
-
• #127657
Yep, I'm hoping this is the case.
-
• #127658
I'm hoping Citeh put the fascists out. I've got a nagging worry that Atletico mightn't do too well in an all-Madrid final.

They did alright last time, until falling apart after a late equaliser.

Not sure any team can beat Atletico in this years competition, just the ability nick a quality goal either on the break or off the back of some aggressive pressing, to defend for long periods, deny the opposition space and do it all for 90mins, they take that underdog mentality, and ally it to team work, determination skill and technique, and having beaten arguably the two best teams in european football, what odds them doing the local derby bit and beating Real in the final.
Even if Man City get past Real Madrid, I can't see them beating Atletico either...
Last nights game was a cracker, but defensively Atletico were superb, once they got the goal, couldn't see Bayern scoring two, then when they got awarded the penalty, you couldn't see Atletico getting back into it if it went in, then the tension off the back of the brainfart of a penalty award for Atletico..
Would have liked Guardiola to go out with a bang at Bayern and play in the final, but Simeone's and Atletico's rise to the final is a thing of sweating, hard working beauty as well..
Not sure how his underdog mentality, and us against them would work at the bigger, deeper pocketed clubs that are circling. I've a feeling if he ever leaves Atletico it'll be to another underachieving club he may have played for like Lazio or Inter...

Have we all calmed down a bit?

Dunno. I read this.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/464431/English_Index_of_Multiple_Deprivation_2015_-_Infographic.pdfYou can all map your own ground on there can't you?
-
• #127663
Why would he want to leave Atleti?
-
• #127665
The "fascists"? You don't know that Franco had much closer ties to Atletico than Madrid then?
-
• #127666
Exactamente.
New stadium being built, God like status, good salary, club is in a good position both financially and in sporting terms. He's probably the longest serving coach in la liga. Can't see him give that up for a 10 month stint with some backwards club in serie A or the PL.
-
• #127667
True, apart from Rayo, all Madrid's teams were fascist baubles...
-
• #127668
Initially he did but he switched later on (typical plastic fan).
Not much either club can do about it.

I just said the money vultures were circling, I don't imagine him leaving, and @jaw's response would be why I don't think he'll leave, but....
whenever a manager/player is doing well and achieving things with a "smaller" team, (Pochettino for example) and the cry goes up from other fans/media, that they need to leave to achieve more elsewhere, or a big salary offer comes in from one of the big beasts of European football, an offer which they'd be mad to refuse, and I use the same response as @jaw did it's brushed away, as not living in the real world, the world where no one refuses the money, no one...
It helps that Atletico are qualifying for the champions league and challenging for the league in la liga, despite the monetary might of Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the offers will come, or at least the rumours of the offers will surface ....

Er...near Leeds?

Clue. It's blue.

So, are Leicester the worst team to win the premier league? Two banks of four and hit them on the counter, with 2 or 3 technically accomplished players.

It's the way forward.
Works in the Championship too.

Are you suggesting there is something wrong with 4-4-2?
