^Thanks.
I don't know who actually did the paint. A real frame-builder looked after the chrome and paint for me as a favour.
I know the chrome was done by a firm in Manchester, and the paint was done in Liverpool, so I reckon C&G Finishes or Atlantic Boulevard.

Cheers. Spoke to AB, bit too expensive for what I want/ can afford.

Slight hijack, but do talk to Gerry at C&G, they do Goff's frames and are very nice guys. They can't be very expensive as my Goff came in at under £500 including paint.

That looks great!

I have some vague memory
of most thingsof that, Colin. Was there a project thread, or is it lost in the sea of 'current projects chat & miscellany'? -

Solid thread

I look forward to drinking some of your fine Champagnes later today ;)

Big thanks to Max and Steve from London Velo in Deptford, who fitted the headset while I waited after work on Thursday:
This of course means I can now crack on with the build.
Wheels were built by Harry Rowland; they are Ambrosio Nemsis rims on Campagnolo Record Hubs:
I must remember those tubs are not glued on - could lead to embarrassment on the Strada Bianchi!
Offered up some bars and seatpost to see what it's going to look like:
Obviously, these are not the bar / stem / seatpost combo that will go on the finished build, but at the moment, I am very happy with how things are progressing.
Should have the back of this broken by the end of the weekend.

Scalloped seat stay eye is lush!
Only just noticed your reply re: rear mech, let me know if you still want it.

I have some spare tub glue if you need it.

Absolutely lovely!

Sorted on that, thanks.
Just got to remember to stick them on.

Very happy with seat stay caps, proper old-school.
Now sorted for rear mech - many thanks.

You'd know if it was Atlantic Boulevard because you wouldn't have any money left.

This frame will be built primarily with vintage Campagnolo parts, that I have been scouring the internet for since last August.
In a previous project;
http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/209699/
I had all sorts of problems with vintage bottom brackets, so when this came up on e-bay at a good price, I snapped it up:
It's a delightful component, which came complete with a lovely, if a little over-engineered installation tool:
Imagine my disappointment therefore, when I couldn't get the cups to engage with the bottom bracket threads correctly.
I am reasonably sure that it's just paint blocking the threads, so I'll need to take it to a shop that has a tapping tool. But as this is a Bank Holiday weekend, and I am expected to be both a husband and a dad, it's back to the shed for this build until next weekend at best.

Miraculously, my local bike shop was open today, and had a set bottom bracket taps, so I had the chase out the shell and install the BB. This was great, apart from the fact that they installed one of the cups the wrong way round.
Took me a while to figure it out, but once I had, we were up and running again.
Started with the drive-train:
Was delighted to find this rear mech in my parts box:
Next up was brake callipers, front;
And rear;
My next job was to be installing the down-tube shifting levers, but sadly the threads on the bosses were blocked with paint. I'm going to have to tap them out, which involves finding my tap-set. Looks like that's about it for this weekend.

I lurk on a lot of CP threads without commenting, but I must say, this is stunning.

^ thanks.
Realised while waking up this morning, that I haven't done anything about routing the gear cables around the bottom bracket.
Whilst it won't be 'period correct', I have just ordered a plastic Campagnolo cable guide (£3.60 from Halfords online)!
This does mean I'll have to take off the cranks and bottom bracket, and drill and tap a hole in the BB shell. Which means yet another delay getting this on the road.
