But what would be the furthest you would happily ride on the extensions?
Well... @hippy has done c.520miles in 24hours on the TT bars :-)
I don't know if this is the correct place for this, but I'm after some advice for the Rapha Manchester to London ride I'm doing in September, I've been wondering if it would be possible to do it with TT bars. I currently ride a fixed Hinde, which I swap bars on depending on if I'm commuting (bull horns), doing a bigger ride (TT bars), or riding at the track (drops).
I can't decide it TT bars would be appropriate for a 220 mile ride, due to the option of 3 different positions, (upright on the pads, down on the starter bars, and flat on the extensions). They might also allow me to rest in the TT position and take the weight off the wrists for a while. On the other hand the TT position might be a really stupid idea for anything over a 100 miles. Either way, I'll have to up my distances as I've not ridden for further than about 60 miles with TT bars before, so I might be answering my own question before long.
