Nice work on the sparkles.
I'm thinking about painting my fixed but I'm impatient and although I've painted frames before I've never been 100% satisfied with result (mainly because I get impatient)
-
• #50004
I'm the exactly the same can't ever wait for the layers to dry:).
This is probably my best creation.
-
• #50005
If I knew I would get a finish half that good I would be happy.
What paints did you use?
-
• #50006
Halfords car spray paints, primer and lacquer. Was really easy to use.
-
• #50007
Was thinking about doing a quick one for mine as dull green looks shit.
Good to see that the paint I was gonna use can look so great. -
• #50008
@countryboj this, will get the main colour, primer and lacquer from hellfrauds
-
• #50009
Hellfrauds for the win!

MTN 94 if you don't wanna pay £11 a can for something that does a worse job
-
• #50011
£6.99 at the local I thought.
-
• #50012
Thinking of re-spraying my pre-cursa, let me know how the paint holds up would you?
-
• #50013
Is Halfords considered a low or high pressure paint?
Someone at a local graffiti shop (one of the major shops in the US) was saying it's much easier to get better results on a bike frame using low pressure spray paints like Belton or Montana.

• #50014
je sais pas si tu m'as bien compris mais c'est pas grave
-
• #50015
ba non, ta phrase peut avoir un double sens Funky_d
Bonne journée.

• #50016
i have no idea, that's still twice the £3.49 of some MTN though
-
• #50017
Damn, that is very cheap. What kind of shop stocks them?
-
• #50018
Fred Aldous in NQ (downstairs) sells Montana Paints (about £8.50/can)...
They also sell spray acetone in a can, which is sooo convenient and ideal for cleaning before applying primer.
Halfords paint is slightly delicate/brittle once fully cured. Apply as thinly as you can with primer and base coat. The thicker the paint becomes, the more likely it'll chip later (weird sort of logic). -

chas has done it so you are right
desperately needs a velcro strap at the front to get it parallel to TT.

I'm impatient too. only solution can be to add hardener into the mixture, I was using a compressor and a spray gun though not cans. don't know much about cans but isn't there anything that dries quicker?
-
• #50025
Riolett Custom Aerosols sell 2k aerosols (with a hardener cartridge inside)...
Handy, but not the safest thing for any backyard DIYer without a suit & respirator.
Looks good, like the fork, it's too shiny to be a rat innit.
Did you paint it?
