Very nice. Thank you for that.
I think the plan is to build it up ss on a pair of 120mm hubs with silver components and mustache bars. A bit porteur ish perhaps with a rack. -

I have just finished building my new road bike.
Focus Izalco Pro, Ultegra 6800 groupset, PRO carbon finishing kit, RSP Carbon pedals, Mavic wheels (Aksium front, Ksyrium Elite S rear).
I need to add bar tape (black Fi:zik) and it is ready to ride.
7.7kg as seen.
Possibly my first bike which will not head straight to anti...

Who are you and what have you done with Vince? There's still time to put the seatpost in backwards or something.

I initially had fluoro yellow tape / saddle / bottle cages but I thought it was about time I earn some interest respect ;-)

Wait a minute, I've spotted it. You've got carbon brake pads and aluminium rims.

So I'm a fucking idiot and forgot to put the connector insert into the hose when I installed. So the olive is deformed, Will I definitely need to replace the olive and start again?

Got this from a'dan a couple of days ago. So far stripped and cleaned it, replaced hub bearings, blacked out rear brake track and destickered rims. Plan is compact drops, double brake levers but only front brake. Waiting for new bb, cranks to go on are stronglight silver/black. Paint is ratty so might respray later but will ride it around to see how I like it first (for once).

yup.. if it's deformed, it will most likely start to leak somewhere..

Yes, we are going for something similar. First issue is JIS headset... omg I hate old bikes. Anybody have a cheap functional JIS headset 35mm ish stack, 30mm OD, 27mm ID crown race?

(know the tyres are on wrong-way round. decals look better on the drive-side imo)
They're supposed to be on the drive side: why would a manufacturer brand something for the NDS?
Camelback Podium? Great bottles: form > function, can >>>

I assumed the arrow on the non-decal side indicated the direction they should be mounted. and w/the decals on the drive-side, it's pointed backwards...

Yeah, mine will only ever have a dry sack on top, panniers on my Dolan give heel strike. So the load at that support is really little. Especially as I also attach the dry sack to the seat stays.
Zip ties are a good call, will go for that.

What the fuck going on with the rear brake cable housing??
-
• #107641
Always wanted one of these, then one pops up locally. Budget and storage are stretched now though. Going to sell my Somec frame.
Campagnolo parts in the future of this one. -

I assumed the arrow on the non-decal side indicated the direction they should be mounted.
So would I.
Curious, Vittoria are only branded on one side and that's the DS.

I left it slightly longer to allow for carbon frame flex

So I read online that it's generally fine to use 10 speed chainsets with 11 speed groups. So I swapped on my 10 speed power2max chainset and with the same 11 speed chain and cassette it felt like something was grabbing and causing resistance. I tried swapping in a 10 speed chain and that went away. The shifting isn't perfect but definitely useable, there's just one sprocket it skips on. But I don't know why this is happening.
I want the set up to be prefect, all components are nearly new and I can't think what may have been causing the problem.

• #107645
11sp shifters and 10sp chain probably won't help?
-
• #107646
11 speed cassette?
-
• #107647
Won't help but seems to work better than 11 speed cassette, chain, shifters and 10 speed chainset.
-
• #107648
It's odd because it looked like the resistance was coming from the jockey wheels or the cassette, but they're all 11 speed and were working perfectly before I changed the chainset.

• #107649
If it is going to work, probably needs time to wear into together
also probably an obvious idea, but have you got any stiff links in your chain? Might be a subtle one

Good spot!
These are just Goey Joey pads which are for alloy.
Yellow was just to be in keeping with the fluoro which I did not got for in the end.
I have a Flyer from 1965 that I found on a farm yard years ago.
Years after that I sent it out to a framebuilder for repairs and a repaint, definitely worth it to me.
