I have no idea of prices (STI, gears...) but someone said these SRAm were cheap. Maybe something?
Sram Rival22 275 euros
Sram Rival1 319 euros- single right 10 speed Sram S-700

Dude, that's lovely - what is it?

2015 Saracen Avro.

6'1.5" on a good day. Frames a 56 and fits me just right tbh.

Hmmm - not sure. Seems like they shipped a bike with tubeless tyres as stock then forgot to mention the rims couldn't be used tubeless.
Seems like a mistake on their part and they are rectifying it - albeit with some fairly porky Mavics.
-
• #5132
Yup, that how I read it, just regular rims.
-
• #5133
Some of the reviews mention the rims as being tubeless, but the product data sheets don't seem to.
Bit of a weird cock-up, really.
-
• #5134
nothing's changed really, just took a better pic as I had nothing better to do.
the bad thing about this bike is that it makes my orlowski feel really slow.. must wait for cx season. Might be a good idea to put mudguards and flats on it now.
with mechanical discs kcnc razors were not good enough. Might give them another go now with hydraulics.

kcnc saves whopping 40g per wheel

Rode a Caad 12 Disc today. Very nice bike.
Now looking at whether to go off the shelf or self build...Would prefer not to buy from Evans - is anywhere else offering discount at the moment? They are offering £250 off for any bike at the moment*

I'd probably avoid that kind of rotor unless you're just doing cyclocross, you're best off saving for a decent wheelset than going for a skinnier rotors.
That Cannondale look so good thought, so much better than their press release photos!

I've read it, it's exactly the same wheelset on all of the Slate range, if it's anything like their Maddox wheelset, the Mavic is a big upgrade.
-
• #5140
Fair enough, you're in Denmark right? those rotors would be OK for that, but alpine climb in Norway, no way I'd trustr it.
-
• #5141
finland. A bit more hilly than denmark but nothing like our scandinavian neighbours
-
• #5142
Maddux (Jalco) make all of the Far East Mavic rims so likely both rims originate from the same factory
-
• #5143
How the fuck did they managed to fuck it up so bad, that I end up having to send a lots of customer's Maddux wheels to CSG for warranty?
And I never build a Cannondale with a Maddux wheels that's nice and true before, it's rare as hen's teeth.

• #5144
They're a right arse to maintain though. As much as I like SRAM design and hood feel, for peace of mind. Shimano.
-
• #5145
brake or gear part?
-
• #5146
Brakes. Shimano procedure you could do blindfolded by comparison.
-
• #5147
Dunno, maybe some compatibility issues between the Panaracer tyres and the rims. Tubeless road and higher pressures is still fairly new and there's no universally agreed standard so tolerances are a bit all over the shop. The lower pressures with mtb/larger tyres is sympathetic to big differences. Whatever it is I'm guessing the product managers @ Cannondale wished they hadn't slapped their logo on both!
As for build quality - a wheel is only ever as good as the person (or machine) that built it. A good wheelbuilder can make you a great wheel out of bottom of the range rim, hub and spokes.
-
• #5148
wheels do have other qualitys as well as the build quality though. But I do get your point.
-
• #5149
Just ride with front brake only. Don't really need a rear with discs anyway.

Is that how you smoked your in Italy??
It didn't have RS685 to begin with, just a full 105 groupset, the RS685 version only just come out in 2016.
I prefer it this way as in future I want to put SRAM eTap on it.
