Can you paint helmets as well or does the heat from drying not agree with them. (just assuming you use an oven to bake them in?)
-
• #53
We can paint helmets.
The heat wouldn't agree with it but in that instance we wouldn't use heat.
What do you have in mind?

What's turnaround like for single colour frame (ali) n fork (carbon)?
Cheers. Jon -
• #58
Lots of factors affect the turnaround time but as an average, we aim to have all jobs back within 3 weeks. We tend to get bikes back way before that though.
There'll be a web update very soon.

Cheers. Will check website.

Zombie thread dredge...
I had planned to post regular updates here of finishes and such so people could see what we were all about but I've flopped... there are a bunch of new finishes on our website.
I'll try and be a bit more active.
Cheers.

Top work.
My girlfriends frame is on your waiting list - cant wait to see what you do with it! -
• #64
Saw quirk respray on a Francis cade video... what a lovely colour what was it and more importantly how much? He did say it was a custom mixed from house of colour in America $$?
-
• #65
Oooh... who's your girlfriend Josh?
Or rather "Which bike is it?" -
• #66
Yeah, you're right... that Quirk did feature a custom shaded House of Kolor product.
To be honest, that sort of stuff is firmly in the 'premium' end of materials but in the grand scheme of things isn't super expensive. A standard 'flat' colour would be £40 and a House of Kolor Kandy Basecoat like that one would be £90 by comparison. You could look at it as more than double the cost of a standard colour or you could say it's £50 more for something a bit special. If you get into the Hot Rod colours, you would in most instances only use one or two as feature colours and mix it up with some less expensive products much like Rob did on that project. It's worth adding though that Rob painted that one himself on our 'Introduction to Paint' course - https://colecoatingsworkshop.com/#/quirk-paint-course-result/We try our very best to be transparent when explaining how we price our work because it's one of those things where people automatically assume it's expensive 'cause they can't find a clear price anywhere!
Every project is different so in turn, every price is different and you can see the numbers here - https://colecoatingsworkshop.com/costs
We're happy to work in a few different ways...
The main ones would be:
"I've got £XXX, what can I get for it?"
"I want this, how much is it?"
"I want this and I have £XXX" and then we'll help you tweak and alter your finish to help it best match your budget without compromising your vision. It's a very personal process in the most part.

I didn't even answer the question with all that rambling!
It's a House of Kolor Kobalt Blue Kandy Basecoat.

Hey @privatepatterson,
Apologies in advance if this has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum already...
I've just been reading through this thread and I'm wondering if a definitive LFGSS members discount has decided upon?
Cheers!

It has indeed.

Is the 10% for resprays as well or just for the courses?
-
• #71
Both.
Drop us an email and tell us what you're after. -
• #72
I'm the red and purple Basso :)
Btw I want to say a big thanks for the time you've spent replying to all my questions and your dedication to getting things absolutely right.
-
• #73
Oh cool.
Not a problem.Sometimes getting the details right needs a lot of discussion... sometimes the customers want to give us carte blanche... both approaches are fine.
Hit me up once you've got the repair sorted.

Got a price for sandblast of a steel frame/fork and clearcoat finish and what would the turnaround time be too?
One of the main reasons I've joined the team is to deal with the admin and manage the workload so more people can get good work turned around quickly.
