Because it's not the Plus, it's basically a large slick tyres with a bit of the blue Marathon gel in it.
Look at the weight dude;
Marathon Plus 38mm - 960g
Marathon Supreme 40mm - 490g.I'm always gonna wax lyrical about Grand Bois/Compass tyres but I do recognised that not everyone would want to get them.
Go for the 42mm version, big supple tyres are fucking amazing.
Having said that I can understand the price being quite high, why not go for the Marathon Supreme in 40mm? 490g (HD Speed Guard version) isn't bad for a slightly tougher tyres that felt better than the Pasela, unless you wanna go for that gumwall look.
The Supreme is the best touring tyres you can get for the money, light, supple, smooth and have that Marathon blue gel insert.
