I'm just wondering whether they may have something on Sadiq Khan that isn't easily contradicted as what they've tried to dig out so far, something that they're going to unleash closer to the election. What is the point of even the Prime Minister making (potentially, I wouldn't know either way) completely untrue claims unless they're trying to build up to something else? Maximising the story angle in the press first before they drop a story that can stick? Maybe I'm being overly suspicious, but I'm finding this increasingly bizarre.

From the interview with Khan's extremist relative, with whom Khan has shared a platform, my impression is that this Imam may be quite conservative in his views but had never directly expressed support for IS. His campaign against gay marriage ran in tandem with the same campaign as half the tory party. He was considering voting for Goldsmith in the mayoral election.

Thoughts go out to the victim (and I don't use this word lightly after her widely-reported experiences arising from this case, whatever the verdict) for having to endure another trial and the inevitable repeated horrors on social media resulting from the last one.

It must be awful for her, not least because many will now be branding her a liar even more readily than before.

There's a fuck of a lot of people out there who don't know the difference between a quashed conviction and a determination of not guilty. Even worse than that is the multitude taking to twitter saying that he should now be allowed to rape the victim to make up for it.

To be honest, even if he is later found not guilty, I hope that he isn't offered a contract by a club because that will just encourage his fans to go into public places like stadiums.
