Would have been nice if Elton went to Ronnie Corbett's funeral and sang Four Candles In The Wind.

His stores also kept selling condoms when that was still illegal in republic of ireland (illegal until 1980s...yes catholic church influence....) with a "yeah...just fine me bro" response.
He also gives people with a criminal record a job, so seems to have some good points.

I'm just wondering whether they may have something on Sadiq Khan that isn't easily contradicted as what they've tried to dig out so far, something that they're going to unleash closer to the election. What is the point of even the Prime Minister making (potentially, I wouldn't know either way) completely untrue claims unless they're trying to build up to something else? Maximising the story angle in the press first before they drop a story that can stick? Maybe I'm being overly suspicious, but I'm finding this increasingly bizarre.

It's all based on exaggeration. From the interview with Khan's extremist relative, with whom Khan has shared a platform, my impression is that this Imam may be quite conservative in his views but had never directly expressed support for IS. His campaign against gay marriage ran in tandem with the same campaign as half the tory party. He was considering voting for Goldsmith in the mayoral election.

Well, yes, but is there something coming that they may be able to actually make stick? There may well be nothing, and perhaps I'm just overthinking it.
-
• #40287
It all comes across as a bit desperate to me, if they throw enough mud, maybe some of it will stick?
-
• #40288
I agree, I don't think there is a masterplan leading up to a grand revelation, just the thought that if you say it enough and it garners enough headlines then it will influence people.

Thoughts go out to the victim (and I don't use this word lightly after her widely-reported experiences arising from this case, whatever the verdict) for having to endure another trial and the inevitable repeated horrors on social media resulting from the last one.

It must be awful for her, not least because many will now be branding her a liar even more readily than before.
-
• #40294
There's a fuck of a lot of people out there who don't know the difference between a quashed conviction and a determination of not guilty. Even worse than that is the multitude taking to twitter saying that he should now be allowed to rape the victim to make up for it.

• #40295
For real? Fuck.
-

For real. There's even one that suggest he does it on live TV.
To be honest, even if he is later found not guilty, I hope that he isn't offered a contract by a club because that will just encourage his fans to go into public places like stadiums. Hardly the best venue for anyone who thinks that rape is a suitable treatment for people that upset their warped sensitivities.

It's just a roundabout way of saying 'do you really want a muslim running London' because they can't say that.

Jesus! Are the Tories now burying adulterous women up to their necks in the ground and stoning them? Throwing homosexual men of tall buildings? Are they burning their enemies alive?
You dont like the Tories, I get it - pretty sure on LFGSS you are in a 'safe space' on that front but let's ease up on teh rhetoric, especially considering who you are comparing them too.
