Currently looking at the end of may, depends how much work I've got. I'll be camping, unless the weather is truly awful inwhich case I may duck into a hostel.
28c should be ok for bike packing becuase the weight will be spread, i.e. not just over the rear wheel as you'd have with a rear rack. so you may be ok.
@tallsam @spotter durability yes, but comfort and 'speed' is important, it's a long trip and I don't want to spend half my effort pushing heavy tyres along.
I've had a couple years of squaring off gatorskins and currently a cracked shed-stored gp 4 season is on the front of the bike. A set of Pro3's I was using squared way too soon, but the grip was there of course. Preferably something fast, like a training tyre that's good for miles and no worse on resistance.
@spotter when are you going? I leave on the 4th. Are you camping or credit card touring, or?
I'm riding a road bike so max is 28c's. Bikepacking with limited kit.
