Embrace the paint job, silver parts and white saddle, tape and pedals.

Maybe I need to paint my cranks red to match the red of the number 2!
-
• #4
Pound shop auto paint, cheap and if you get the drip right you might create trips- classy AND aero!
-
• #5
Not a bad idea, but don't have the time really.
@umop3pisdn What's better, giro empires or any shoes and overshoes? Are velotoes ok? My castelli ones were poor.
-
• #6
Last pic I saw of Xav racing he was wearing Castelli Nano overshoes. I think they're a little more resilient than previous versions.
-
• #7
Yeah, Castelli Nano if you want overshoes. The 2015 version, earlier ones were flappy apparently. Velotoze are a faff, fall apart and are unusable over an hour imo.
Or you go Girl Empire with taped laces or those new lace up Specialized.
But I couldn't tell you which is fastest. Comfort has to be a factor too.

Also, I want to remove the rear derailleur cable boss. What's the best way to get that off, it's riviged on. Drill the rivits?
-
• #10
Wouldnt that ruin the resale value if you ever want to sell?

Race of Truth sounds like a neo nazi organisation

I just tend not to think about things like that, how sensible.

• #13
LOL. Well it was going to happen eventually! It's law.

Just won these on ebay!
Now only need some wheels.

The battery will go in the seat tube.

First pic doesn't work for me

The long URL you used was a private one and included a time based key so that only you could view it.
I can't share it for you, but I could visit the page, download it, and attach it. Which I've done.
-
• #20
Weird. If should have been publically shared.
What's the time based key thing?
Obviously thank you. Google photos seems a bit clunky for sharing images online, which is a shame as all my images go there auto now. -

Di2 will run really easily actually, only need to widen 2 holes and then drill one new one in the top tube. The battery will go in the seat tube.
Your definition of easy is different to mine.
-
• #22
Ha! Fair. But that will all take less time than trying to set up mechanical gears on this frame tbh.
-
• #23
10W? I find that very hard to believe. Some watts, I reckon almost certainly.
I use a Fibrelyte singlespeed chainring (longer teeth, no ramps and pins and shit to help derail the chain).
-
• #24
Did it come with a seatpost?
-
• #25
Yeah, took it out to look at the space inside the frame, for putting the battery in there and running the di2 wires.
Yeah 10w sounds an overestimate to me. I'll lose the 3w is might be so I can use the bike to train on.
Time for a new TT bike project.
Bought a cheap 2nd hand Cervelo. Got the paint job is ugly.
Going to run Di2 on it and find some handlebars. Then tinker...

Any suggestions on how do deal with the horrible paint job, cheaply?
