  • Can anybody beat 2,000m? Any Deep Seas or Sinn UX's on the forum?

  • There's that Bell & Ross Hydromax too.

  • If anybody on here has one of these I'm quitting the forum.

  • WTF is that? Can I get in it?

  • Swiss Military 20,000ft.

  • I'll see your 2000M and double it.

  • Stop posting wristies and lets see who's got the biggest schlong

  • I'm hung like a church mouse. I'm out.

  • I love how the dial seems to pop out on the UX. Awesome watch.

  • I thought these were all schlong shots.

  • pffft I win losers

  • I think that if 200 metres was enough for the French Navy with their Tudor submariner then everything else is just willy wangling.......

  • Steinhart vintage military is actually 300

It says 200 to be a true homage to Rolex mil sub.

  • What would the person wearing the watch look like at 2,000m?

  • AKA 200 atmospheres of pressure

  • Depth ratings are rediculous, but not by as much as it would seem at first once you take into account the difference between static and dynamic pressure. My Speedmaster is rated for 50M, but there's no way on earth I'd take it scuba diving.

Bit like imagining what the human would look like at 75G, using a laptop that has a hard disk that can withstand a shock of that magnitude.

  • Wiki says:
Modern nuclear attack submarines like the American Seawolf class are estimated to have a test depth of 490 m (1,600 ft), which would imply (see above) a collapse depth of 730 m (2,400 ft).

    That's about 50atm - timex territory ;-)

  • I agree that depth ratings are stupid. I just have a passion for diving watches and I tend to prefer chunkier designs which means that some of my favorites have deep ratings.

  • I agree, I'm no diver but I'm a fan of the legibility and resilience afforded by dive watches. That Sinn should be ok with depth then, u-boot stahl ja?

  • Well, the other excellent thing you get with the UX as a byproduct of its insane depth rating, but actually cooler and more functional (paricularly when trying to read the time without taking your hands off the hoods) is the effect of the hands sitting on top of the crystal.

  • Is wrong that sinn ux has warmed my loins?

  • You have loins?
