It's made by gerber, I use Stanley fatmax blades because they're much stronger and you can resharpened them very well.
The other reason I like it is because it fits very neatly in that otherwise unless (to me at least) pocket you get on jeans, along with my pen.

Cutting cable ties, string, useful to have when running errands, at the very least its a safety tool, if you encounter an incident then you can free an animal or a person for example

Is this thread where people obsess over different wallets etc? What's a good one to carry minimal stuff: driving licence, work pass, some notes, not much else? Small would be good. RFID shielded would be good.

You could just use a box cutter for string and cable ties. No exposed blade and arguably quicker, safer and easier than a knife. I was issued a great one when I worked in tescos 13+ yrs ago which I still have somewhere, fits in a credit card slot.
What errands you running that need a knife!? Drug courier?
Have you ever freed a person or animal with a knife? Struggling to visualise that one. Unless you have a multitool with a 10,000psi jaws of life feature...
Not being an argumentative cunt but this seems a relatively tenuous reason for carrying a blade day to day.
Edit: was in reply to Cheetah but forgot to click reply and Sparky snuck in before me.. -

In my defence since carrying the opinel last week I found my old sak which is far more useful and legal that the no7. I'm at uni in north wales so carry a leatherman half the time because Ive seen numerous sheep stuck in fences and one died because I couldn't save it (as I didn't have my LM) I find its a sods law problem. You can't predict what is going to happen on a daily basis but when ever I forget it I need it for small menial tasks either for myself or friends

An old friend of mine was arrested and cautioned for carrying a penknife that he used for his work. He was stopped and searched on account of wearing the same coloured tshirt as a mugging suspect. The fact he was carrying a toolbox, could claim that it was a tool of the trade and on the way to his next job didn't help.
It fucked up his career ambitions quite a lot. Even a caution can rule you out of some professions.

an old boss of mine apparently got stopped by the police for having a 5" knife in his car and got let off after he told them he worked at a parcel depot and needed it for opening boxes

I use a knife at work regularly. Either the blade on my mini leatherman or my colleagues SAK.
- Opening all the things I buy online.
- cutting saucisson
- neatly cutting around notes I've laminated to my desk with sellotape.
Oh and carefully scraping the desk grime that collects on the rubber feet of my mouse.
- Opening all the things I buy online.

You have a website or pics?

I have one of these for opening boxes and cutting string/cable ties/etc. Much quicker than a knife and less likely to accidentally slice stuff

Note to self: when going on Holiday in the UK in summer, leave knives at home.
I use to carry a pocket knife with me. Most use it gets is for opening packaging, cutting apples and opening zip ties. It just works.

Protip: Always wipe the blood off the blade after you've shanked someone...

I have been involved in things with the police on a couple of occasions when having a blade has come in handy. One was a swan wrapped up in fishing line, between us and with my Leatherman we were able to free it and let the thing go. Cop was well impressed, he had never seen one before, I have since seen lots of police carrying them.
More recently a cop came by my business with a flat tyre caused by a huge cut in the side. With a bit of plastic cut to size and a new tube he was on his way. I kept a note of his name and number, should I ever need to explain why I am carrying a knife.
Here is the blade, 25 years use, it is now about half its original size through wear and resharpening.

This is true, but I tend not to have any room in my pockets for spare sausages anyway.
I remember seeing your folding Stanley on here before, well jelly.
That's a perfectly reasonable thing to carry in context.
Carrying an opinel or other folder just because is lame. I say that as someone who regularly carries a chainsaw, billhook and handsaws by bike/foot. Never felt the need for a pocket knife though, shame as I have a lovely little Benchmade.
