    1. Don't bodge a shock into your new frame.

    2. The Slant forks, with their larger diameter stanchions will surely be stiffer. They also don't state the measly 110kg rider weight limit that the DTs do. From reading about, the reliability will be better too. They do seem well made ( despite my not having ridden my Trace forks yet ).

    3. Lockouts are rubbish. They're just something to accidentally leave on when you ride a technical descent. Keep your bars relatively clean, with a gear shifter on the right and a dropper remote on the left.

    4. Don't be blinded by bargains. Build a bike that works.
