What fork / hub combo are you using? I've put spyres on a few bikes to far and have not run up against this issue.

It's a Shutter precision PD-8 with a Kinesis Tracer 1.5 fork using a shimano flat mount to 160mm post mount adaptor.
Perhaps if the fork were made for post and not flat it would have been okay.

It's the fork, I had the same hubs, and just about gotten away with the clearance (post mount), then removed it and sent full hydraulic (TRP Hylex).

Same hub here, took a bit of fiddling to get to get a spyre set up with a surly Pacer IS mount fork. But got there in the end without a spacer.
