i only just made it to the e2/25 today as i was delayed by my indecision in equipment choice and stupidly changing setup the night before an event. I didnt warm up but managed 54.06 which i was pleased with. I came close to cramp in my left calf and the ride back from the turn was a battle - really grateful for the wind assistance. I could barely sit down afterwards as my hips were acheing like mad. Hippy -were you the bearded guy wearing black chatting with a couple of islington riders? Im quite an introvert at these things, i should try harder to match the names with faces.

Training is cheating.

No, I was bearded but I was outside shotgunning a 6 pack of Special Brew.
The only people you should talk to at a TT are the cake dealers.

Glad you all enjoyed it. I was marshalling at the turn around at the 4 Went Ways roundabout
No one took the wrong exit and so headed off to Cambridge , that happened twice on last year's ten, but I did hear that a DNF went off up the A14. -

The only thing I was thinking for the first 5 miles was KEEP LEFT, KEEP LEFT, KEEP LEFT...
-
• #12264
It's a an achievment worthy of a Darwin Award to go down the A14.
My arm's hurting from my vigorous pointing at the roundabout.

Thanks @Peter_Carter for keeping us on course. Chatted to one guy from Islington CC who missed the turn, did 44km in the end! Think he was going quite well as he ended around 1.02 despite the extra kms!

Awesome!
Chapeau hippy, your pb is well up on mine now.
Told you e2 was a good course.

Cheers all.
If those CSG dickheads had just said they won't get the cranks 6 weeks ago, I could've used the new disc wheel and I would've cracked 30mph. As it stands, I now have to race another fooking 25 to get the sub-50min because obviously I now can't leave that :02 just hanging there.
I was actually down on power on Saturday. Maybe something to do with swapping the turbo sessions with longer work hours and adding in silly hilly audaxes. Still, pretty happy with the ride.

Will I need a 100 time to get into national champs this year?
If so, what's my best option for a 100 before 14th may?
Seems 2 options, H100/88 or Q100.Annoyingly the E2/100 is on the 19th.
-
• #12271
I doubt it'll fill. But better to ride one anyway. H100 is 29th of May no?
-
• #12272
yeah https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-details/11812
Actualyl can't do that one, as e2/25 on that day and want new 25pb. So will have to be Q100, or just ride the e2/100 after clsoing entry date and then send off an email with my time after.

Why before May 14th?
I think Hounslow's is the first one usually on the late May bank holiday.
All the cool kids ride it.
-

Closing date for nat 100. Wanted a time before then.
I can't ride hounslow, as it's the same day (29th) as a E2/25 race, and I want a new 25 pb more. I'll just ride the E2/100 ln the 19th and then send the organiser of the Nat 100 my time. The E2/100 starts 3 miles from my house, so it's perfect!
Still need a TT bike!

I might race that. I need 10, 50 and 100 mile club records still and it should be fast, right, even with the b roads?
and my skewer is too long... and my 24hr light mount is massive and still attached... and my Garmin was at the wrong angle... and my cables are untidy... and I've still got the Zipp disc sitting here unused...
