  • new wheels and tyres: velocity blunt sl ss, revo, novatec, compass barlow pass 38mm
new drivetrain: 11-32 xt, weinmann 10speed, 44 nw raceface

  • So good looking.

  • yeh maybe.
i had a cetma for a while but really didnt like the handling.
think i may jus get a wald for chuckin a jumper and beers in

  • and @mdcc_tester

i have threaded hollow axles for mudguard mounting and wanted to change wheelsets but keep the mudguard "mounts" on the other bike.

i thought the axles were interchangeable between novatec/on-one mark I and joytech/on-one mark II (or well, i thought they were both from the same manufacturer before...)

fronts are, rears are not because the bearings actually sit further from each other in the new ones so they protrude from the old hub body.

i just decided to sell the wheelset involved. thanks though.

  • Gearing question. I'm doing a 1x9 old mtb thing for the GF. 11-32 rear, 26 tyres with 2.00 kojaks. What chainring size, for a non cyclist?

  • honestly brakeless track bike + rack is never going to be great. you're better off with a hip pouch if you really think you need to carry stuff you can't fit in your pocket and don't want a bag. Personally i just stuff my pockets and use the plastic bag an offie would provide or just carry a bag. My back gets sweaty af in the summer no matter what so don't really matter

  • i had a wald and it was ok but i never drilled it properly so that it sat low enough. If you did that then it's so light you probably wouldn't mind it

Depends on the terrain and stuff. I put 12-28 and a 36T ring on miss.ua's bike with 2.0 Big Apples because it's what I had in the parts bin. No complaints so far.

  • yeh i think im bein a bit hopeless romantic.
my back is sweaty regardless of weather or a rucksack.

  • Stops the rack hitting the to too

  • Those will roll smoothly

  • Back on track soon...

  • What front rack is that?

  • Just bought an all city big block frameset + wheels off a'dan, selling all the surplus geared stuff from the basement. Hoping it'll build up and ride nicely. Found some inspiration for it from the internetz, just have to get a dog and paint my mudguards white etc and then I can be a modern bike fashionista too

He rides all through the city on his Big Block by All City wearing his Pace Chicago cap and Levis Commuter jeans as his uniform. Whether he’s biking to the park for a walk or to obedience class to keep his new charge in line, this pair stays dry with SKS Raceblade fenders and jeans that are water repellent. Go ahead, spill a beer on these 511’s. Everything rolls off, except for his Abus Mini U-Lock. It’s safely tucked into the pants built in waist band, away from this teething pup.

  • Yeap, exactly as @B0N0R said above ^ 32t is your choice

  • Lovely bike! I wonder how much more volume these tires would have compared to, for example, my 35c paselas?..

  • Not a good example, as ua women are subjectively (1) stronger (2) less prone to complain about bikes?.. :)
Well at least mine still lets me keep a full-sus, tourer, dirty SS mtb and 2 track frames inside our appartment...

  • sooooooo siiiiiiiick

  • cool frame, looks a bit big though?

  • The Shimano 11-34 have a great low to mid range for road riding with the top 3 cogs enough to compensate for the lack of spinner gears, far better than the 11-32 ironically enough.

  • I also went from 21 inner rims to 26mm. Those feel substantially faster and larger. They are quite much lighter as well.

  • No idea, a local guy sells them. Comes without packaging and screws.
