Sorry to disappoint on my promise to update over the weekend - still waiting on shipment of a few toxic chemicals (nitromors, etc) that will facilitate my mad scientist fantasy of reviving this bike. I won't leave my faithful, and expectant readers (#teamjdmitch where are you now?) completely empty-handed, however! Here are a few photos of parts I have accumulated to build the frame up "properly" (!?) once I have stripped the paint, and fortified the questionable "rear end" (which may or may not be ride-able, but has definitely been ridden!). I know some of these are not in the best of shape, but hopefully between your anecdotes of past mistakes and my stubbornness, we can figure out how to restore them to their potential glory:
LOOK! - it's an ergostem (eat your heart out@skrtluv - you can micro-adjust your bars for every day of the week/weather condition)
I am sure there has to be some reason why someone said I would never be trusted with one of these ;)
... so maybe a cinelli grammo titanium stem would suit me better (mmm, remember those kinesis forks...):
ergopower drops!?! wait a second, get that shit out of here...
for a bike with this kind of identity crisis, the bars should be from Moscow... err Italy:
ok, they're a bit scratched, but uncut 3ttt Moscow bars were made for a time-trial ... track... bike... chunk of metal like this.
you can start circling now, ye vultures of rare bike parts, because whatever doesn't go on the final build will have to be sold to pay for the rest of it! So if schadenfreude and hate-following weren't incentive enough to read before, the flurry for my ill-gotten parts could descend into a @tynan thread in the style of: I am having @jdmitch's stem tonight:

better to have this piece of
artwork cannibalised than resort to selling power crystals ;)
