Plausibly okay, but I don't mind a bit of drizzle.

I've double booked myself for Saturday :/

It's looking unlikely for me I'm afraid. Wrist x-ray revealed a small chunk of bone being somewhere it shouldn't be and I've been advised to stay off bikes for a couple of weeks. It's hell.

Yeah, long as it's not torrential, I can live with a few showers :-)

• #157
Better be good!

• #158
Heal up soon, mate. Maybe see you on another ride.

Yep, the 16th works for me I think, but I also don't mind a bit of drizzle.

I'm based in Whitechapel and I have a big van so it's tempting to drive, but I'm also happy to jump on the train if others are leaving from Liverpool St. I can also give a couple of people a lift if they can get to Columbia Rd, where my van is based. Or I can pick you up on my way out of London if you're Epping Forest way. Gah, the possiblities are endless!

Sorry, I should get in the habit of 'replying' and tagging @BareNecessities when necessary.

• #163
Shouldn't worry. I get email alerts for everything posted in this sub-forum anyway :-)

• #164
Of course, that makes sense. I clearly haven't got my head around this microcosm business.

I've not been 100% sure of my health after I left the last ride early, but as it's nice at this time of year, I'd like to try and do both Saturdays ( 9th and 16th ), as I'll be elsewhere in the UK for a lot of the Spring & Summer weekends.
Take your pick really :-)

I'm looking forward to getting out on the MTB, it'll be the first proper MTB ride of the year for me. I'm definitely not at peak fitness but I should be good for a few miles :) It looks like I can only do the 9th now though:

That's all these rides are about really. The Epping Forest ones are aimed at noobs and those that aren't in a hurry to get anywhere.
I see you've signed up for the night ride too.

Excellent. What GI are you running at the mo BN? Need to alter my gf's setup as there's not enough chainwrap currently

I'll be on 55gi, which is my usual for Epping. Tried 52gi at the last Thetford ride, but it was just that little bit too annoying on the road.
Are you using a freewheel, or cassette cogs? I have a few different sized cogs, should you need to borrow one.

Cogs, normal Shimano spline. She's currently on 52gi/32:16, but there's a lot of skipping under power because there's too much chain slack to run the tensioner in the push-up mode. I think I have a 17t from a cassette somewhere, but an actual SS sprocket would help. The chainring is ramped as well, so that would be good to replace but I don't think that's the root of the issue.

Well, I've had a look and the choices are:
A pretty knackered old TA 34t ( it must have a couple of rides left in it ), which you could have for nowt, and it might fill the gap enough for the tensioner to work. Or I have a decent 36t Gebhardt SS ring and cheapo 18t cog that you can have for not very much.
Feel free to bring the bike over before the weekend and try them out for size.

There's even a 40T chainring/20t cog combo, if you're after extra chain-wrap...

40:20, very polo! Bringing the bike round sounds like the best idea. Will PM you

Ooh, are you two on single speed steads? I don't have any excuse in that case.
EDIT: you three

Hah, not me. 1x9 all the way. But for Thetford I'd be tempted
Wait until after the ride and you can keep @IR company....
