  • It's lovely, however much it goes for.

  • Why does it have to rain overnight tonight after a glorious few days, it's going to be grim in the peak district tomorrow morning!

  • Thanks! It's great to ride, especially long distance. I just want something better (more forgiving) for jumps and trails.

  • 120mm best on a Soul? Ought to use google more before I buy.

Seemed a good compromise to me. Various STW types have run 140s down to 100s and felt 120 was about right for general stuff.

Nice bike - pity they can't make a 29er as good

  • If anyone fancies riding some new trails in the South East.

    Badgers go exploring

  • ^ another 26" soul owner here. Lovely bikes.

Edit- reading the last page. Run it with 140mm forks. Is good for most stuff, but I do occasionally run wide on corners. Rider error, but the type that wouldn't happen if they were a little shorter.

What? Why do the forks make you run wide on corners?

  • Nothing to see here.

  • In the April Fool thread?

    Ha ha etc

  • I'm no fun I know

  • I came from an xc background. Used to pretty sharp handling. At 140mm the front end will sometimrs wander or run wide unless I conciously correct.

  • Didn't even heed the date just saw a link on FB that someone had shared today (more fool that guy!)

I didn't find it that unbelievable tbh.

  • This wasn't the ICT (Inanimate Carbon Tube) thingy was it?

  • I run 150 on my classic soul and think it rides amaze. They're adjustable but unless at the bottom of a long steep climb I just leave at 150.

Get some decent adjustable forks and you can try out different travel and see what suits you.

  • Nah that fourteen speed cassette shiznit

  • I for one am looking forward greatly to 31t narrow wide chainrings.

  • have you tried lowering the bars to get your weight forward over the front wheel, compensating for the increased length of the 140mm fork?

  • A slammed stem is my default ☺. Though I am on adjustable forks- I drop them to 120 on twisty stuff and it sorts things out nicely.

  • .

  • Spent the afternoon chasing this around the south Pennines. Hard work to keep up with it on the descents!

  • That looks incredibly rad!

  • First round of the downhill world cup at Lourdes today. Course looks beastly.
