How about an O&W W10, cheap as chips and it's got a nice ETA movement in it...

They've done their own M65 homage as well... These were popular with American soldiers in Vietnam... Quite fancy one myself!

Seiko or push the budget a bit and get something more interesting secondhand. Or, get a Swatch and save up for something special.

My alarm goes off at 6am, I then just count the seconds until I go to bed

I bought this a while ago on ebay for a tenner and forgot all about it until it was delivered today.
Not quite sure what strap goes on it. The springbar appears to be made from a needle chopped in half.

Truly odd and quite charming. Expanding metal bracelet?

It is supposed to be a bracelet, hard to find. I couldn't make a strap for one, well I could, but no way to hold it on. emphasized text

Yes, looks like it should be a bracelet
I'm thinking maybe these http://www.watch-band-center.com/shop2/index.php?user=watchstrap&proid=21451&skat=1869&hkat=431&wanzahl=1&ck=1 plus a craft knife to cut a hole in an existing strap.

It depends on the diameter of the hole in the lug.

AIUI - PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is the method of applying the coating.DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) is just one of the coatings that can be applied by PVD, and is generally acknowledged to be the hardest available.
Can this be done after market? (I'm certain it can)
What is the quality like? Is it as good as the big manufacturers? -

Quick explanation of circle dials plz?
Is tacking or summat?
I'd go Seiko as well. You won't be able to beat it for price / quality. But if you like the military look the Seiko 5 are probably a better range.
Have a look through http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-watches-127/
(or possibly Hamilton... bit more pricey tho)
