just a short question guys: how do you fit discbrakes on the pompino? (rear and front)

You swap it for a Pompetamine.

big fan of this.
What speed cassette/ shifter combination have you gone with? I'm sick of my crappy bar end friction shifters...
Does it work well?
-
• #5830
Shiter and mech are deore xt 9 speed. Cassette is 9 speeds 11-34, slx I think.
Work very well ! Sharp as on a regular mtb.
I made with the part bin, but if you buy a new one try to have the shadow+. It may work better. -

o rele - how have you mounted the shifter?

Thanks @Tho

No need to htfu just embrace the slowness. If you're riding loaded with geared friends then you will struggle, just about masking that pain and hiding in their wheels whenever you can.
Or just pretend you're 'not trying' drop well off the back and enjoy the view ;-)

I adapted the shiter on 31.8 front mech hanger. Better see https://www.lfgss.com/comments/11983227/

Won a 4speed Nexus on ebay for my Pomp, just realised I dunno if the 4 speeds are 120 oln. Hmmm....

Woops, 130mm. Sheldon says it can be slimmed down to 123.5mm with a change of locknuts so hopefully that'll do and for £20, it's worth a punt.

Let's play a bit with motivating facts.
How far have you ever been on a Pomp'?
-
• #5841
86 miles was the furthest I rode on mine, about half of that off road.
-
• #5842
I've done a 200 audax and Dunwich (not in one go)
-
• #5843
107 miles, next weekend.
-
• #5844
25 miles in 1:13:53
-
• #5845
On drops?

On drops?
No, flipped North Road bars, the stack and reach is about the same as being on the hoods on my road bike, but with about 4" more width. I rode it again a couple of months later on my road bike, which weighs half as much despite having 20 times as many gears, and only went 3 minutes quicker. In full TT mode on that course, my PB is 1:04:24

I'm intrigued about the idea of TTing on a pomp now. Was it fixed? And by flipped north road bars you mean this:
as opposed to having them point forwards like some insane bullhorns?

Single freewheel, ~72"
Yes, those kind of bars.

Dunwich Dynamo, 115 ish miles of fun

Is there a pic of your pomp knocking around?
So you run bigger gear than me, maybe I just need to htfu.
I like my current gear for commuting and on the flat it's fine to ride with my geared mates but on the climbs they just shift down and spin whereas I need to keep my cadence up so I end up climbing way faster than them which means I get tired quicker than they do.
