So what are the goto 25.4mm seatposts for Cannondale owners then?

This is a question which I have been asking. I'd like to try Zipp finishing kit on my CAAD12, but I'd need an inverse shim for the seatpost.

  • ^ yes please..!!

  • weighed before paint?

  • 1.4kg before paint, about 100g more with. Thought it'd be more.

  • not bad at all! Mario?

Now put etap on it quick! (or DA)

  • Mario indeed. I'm a bit too skint to put DA on, so 6800 that's on another bike will have to do. Should still come in sub 7kg before pedals. My main worry is that after years riding 60cm+, that it's going to be too small (it's 58cm), even as a crit bike.

  • bit more info here: http://www.headsetpress.co.uk/andys-cannondale-super-six-evo/ Personally I think I would have black hollowgrams and a different bar and stem, but it's a very lovely bike individual tastes aside.

  • Seatpost, stem, spacer - sorted.

That is lovely. Look forward to seeing it built up.

  • slates are just lovely. one day..

  • I can pay testament to that - after ploughing head on into a cat at 40kph a few weeks ago my frame sheared in 3 places - the fork, wheels and everything else where unmarked.

  • 140/150 stem will solve that!

  • You're more than welcome to borrow the fork et al needed out of my CritRat to test - after this weekend it will be rested until the racing restarts at Lee valley in May.

  • Cheers for the offer pal, but mysteriously...

Frame has arrived. All looks great. The supposedly cracked fork is also, in fact, fine. All I can see is a slight line from the fabric being shaped in the mould that's left an outline of the carbon in the resin, it's definitely not a crack and the shape is the same on both sides.

Someone's had a bump, taken it out, seen the gaps in the mould and thought the worst? Will upload a pic for collective opinions but I don't think it's a crack at all.

  • ploughing head on into a cat at 40kph

You mean "car" I hope O.o

  • dont risk it with the fork pls

dale forks turn up on ebay all the time

  • Honestly Royal Mail/Parcelforce are bell ends. I've watched the postie pull out all the parcels from his trolley, scan them, write out "while you were out" tickets for all of them, then just go and post the while you were out tickets through all the letterboxes for the apartments, just cos he can't be arsed actually doing his job of going and knocking on someone's door. That kind of behaviour drives me fucking mad.

  • Nah mate - it was outside the zoo at regents..... Fucking Lion mate

  • Fucking bargain- SL's with Spidering are worth more than £225 on their own. Winning.

  • This looks like manufacture processes to me-anyone else had a look at their Dale forks and seen similar?

  • I'll tell you later when I pull apart and rebuild the rat for the last time!

  • Which begs the question, would any self respecting quality control guy let that through?!

  • The only way to tell is if you die or not .. I personally wouldnt risk it and I am from the third world.

  • I've bought carbon rims from Planet X with worse on the tyre bed (I did send them back but more because there was shards of metal stuck in the resin!) it's just a side-effect of the process when you inject resin into the mould. as long as the carbon fibre itself is saturated then small defects in the surface are purely cosmetic. I think.
