Up north of the other market, um Petticoat Lane market there's some older, rougher pubs. The Bell rings a bell ;) but I can't recall their names, I used to just wander and stumble in somewhere.

you've gotta do the Jerusalem tavern on britton street
-
• #480
My 1st thought was the Gun also :(
-
• #481
Yeah, gutted when they closed it. Loved their salt beef sandwiches. Spent quite a few lunches there :)

If you're going that far you may as well keep going to the Dovetail and get your Belgique on.
Gunmakers over there too.

Jerusalem Tavern is lovely but a bit too far away. I'm part of an advanced guard of pub explorers and none of the plebs who work here would walk all that way ( I would and will!).
Meant to be getting boozed and writing mini reviews on company coin.

Pubs near (south) Hackney Marshes? Preferably old man-esque, rather than MDF.
-
• #486

Farringdoner, no he didn't - Moorgate, ah well, yes but gunmakers a little too 'gastro' for my likingyou've also got the white bear round the corner from the jerusalem

if you can stomach a ten minute walk, the old doctor butlers head (near to hawksmoor) is worth a stop
-
• #488

• #489
current itinerary

A little further north, but there are the Wenlock Arms in Wenlock Road and the Old Fountain (Baldwin Street off City Road just north from the roundabout). Both great pubs.
-
• #491
The Chesham Arms in Mehetabel Road, E9. Easts venue and forumenger-run. East London Pub of the Year 2016.
-
• #492
The Pride of Spitalfields is decent.
-
• #493
Preferably Hackney Wick, but would stray to Leyton for a super pub.
-
• #494
not a bad crawl, not bad at all :)
-
• #495
Looks good. It's now on my shortlist.
-

No, but I do.
It was because I'd used Bezzin's route map above. It's not twitter so URL shorteners >>>

Ha - yeah - the beer hall is round the corner from the new office so I should probably look at it. And the BBQ is because food.
Looks like a good addition. I'm gonna be in pieces by the end of this.
