• Sunday, I get a message saying attacking with a torch imminently, today a message saying resorting to pen and paper on rear end to make double sure all the clearances are correct. Not any clearer as to when this will be finished despite asking multiple times. What stage do I cut my losses and walk away from this project? I'm feeling down about this and not enjoying the process anymore and have lost interest in it. Sick of asking with no material progress. It's the uncertainty after 8 months.

  • I guess you have to think, you've waited 8 months, so a bit longer won't hurt much. Also, it's good, in the long run, that these things are being checked now, rather than it being brazed up and then afterwards find there is a problem. (OTOH with 8 months you'd think that could have been checked and double checked a long time ago)

But I totally understand your frustration. I suspect the fact that Bespoked is coming up soon is causing more time pressure which won't be helping things. But hopefully come June when you're riding this happily you'll have forgotten all about the wait

  • Keep the faith Sven! It will be worth it, I can understand your frustrations but I'm sure Your patience will be rewarded.

  • It's quite a complicated project and Matt's first tandem right? How long did the other Talbot you had build take start to finish?

Also I thought the final build/design was only actually finalised a couple of months ago.

Stick with it. It will be rad when it's done. Pop in to see Matt if you aren't getting what you need through other channels.

  • it's a tandem, it's a huge process to do, 8 months is fine (a lots of framebuilder are usuall that long, some up to two years).
