  • Don't the neoprene ones stink though?

I had a pair of DHB ones or something shitty and it was like steaming my hands, taking them off to eat/drink/fettle, putting now freezing wet gloves back on, waiting till they gradually (hopefully) heated back up to unbearably hot, wet finger sacks and then getting home to find that they already smell like an reclusive pensioner six months after a fatal heart attack...

  • You better come to York then to check.

  • I never take gloves off mid ride. If the sweat in them is warm, I dont want to change anything.

Seemed to really piss the ticket guy on the ferry off, last big ride. Took a while to punch my pin with deep winter gloves on.

    Filth.

  • Snigger

  • Probably not much help but a different view

  • You want to emulate him?

Your money may be better spent on a trip to the opticians.

  • With a southerly wind I may be able to get a faint whiff of fursty-finger-quim from here

  • No wool wind jacket or slim denim in the Soho shop, thanks Obama

  • Don't you see the sun? Don't need no sleeves nor denim.

  • It seems as though the new City gear is rather more generously proportioned than the old City lines. I've always bought Rapha stuff in size large, but the Wool Wind Jacket and Merino Zip Through are only going to fit me in size large if I've got another person in there with me.

I suppose it's time to finally visit the Soho store and try on some mediums.

  • Thanks MisterEd, and others for your help. The green looks a little too blue to match the green dataprint stuff. The search continues...

  • Merino ls baselayer or Merino Mesh ls baselayer
    Suggestions?

  • any ladies riding the new core bibs? Any lady specific reason why they would not work?

  • They dont exist?

  • Assume he means women using the mens ones.

  • ah .. well its a different pad to begin with. Missus was disappointed that Rapha released shorts instead of bibs in Core.

  • Just got my Core bibs. Anyone else got them?

The pad is about an inch thick, feels like it's been made out of a discarded 70's sofa and looks like a giant foam taco has been shoved down your arse crack.

First impressions are that I wish I'd just gotten the brevet instead of wasting the discount code on these, else I should just buy more Castelli bibs. I thought the idea was basic Rapha quality at a less larcenous price point, these just look and feel cheap and still overpriced for what they are. Trés unimpressed.

  • when going to the "shop women" and "core" it displays the same core collection as it does when "shop men - core". Was assuming that there isnt that big a difference between gender specific pads and women bibs might just have differend style of top bit. Good to know!

  • Thought the core bibs used the classic bibs pad?

  • Its the same pad tho.

  • Is it? I've never had a pair of classics to compare them to. looks/feels massive and nappy-like.

  • My experience with rapha pad is with aero skinsuit. Best one I've tried, so looking forward to trying out the core bibs
