I think it can, but it's not designed for it. The frame design is circa 2004.
@Dammit has some photos of wide rims in his SystemSix which shares the CAAD9's rear triangle.
Probably in a for sale advert for a USA produced frame I'd imagine.
They are all very good. The pre-10s don't really account for modern rim and tyre choices, and some are BB30 and some are not. Some have full carbon forks (premium) and some not (ultra).
Can't really go wrong with a CAAD10. Be aware you cant transfer warranties and what warranty they do have isn't exactly bomb proof.
Only other gotcha I can think of is that there were many versions of the CAAD8, the earlier ones being very racy and the later ones being noob bikes and having very little in common with their earlier brethren.
