  • Doubtful. The commissaires have no evidence of wrong doing so it's hard to see what they can base a DQ on.

The media coverage is making it more of an issue than it really is. Riders get help from team cars in every single race on the calendar. The commissaires know this and turn a blind eye unless it's blatant.

  • But why if it's always like this just really few times other riders complain about?
Do you agree with the theory that all this mess is just because a frenchman won the classicissima?
Are those riders so stupid to risk a defamation lawsuit against them just because they "didn't like" the winner's provenance?

  • I'd take anything any rider says in the heat of the moment at the end of a race with a pinch of salt. Demare may have been holding on to a car, but doing so is accepted as part of the sport. There is no evidence so far which warrants a DQ.
