  • Haven't tried it yet but someone told me Mr Sheen furniture polish is good for taking off stickers/decals/residue, worth a shot.

  • Disc brake cleaner is best - it has all sorts of chemicals in it that dissolve glues etc. It's what we use in the shop I work in

  • The key to getting them off in one piece was to get the the start right, peeling off a few mm so you have something to pull on. Then tearing it off at a 180 degree angle (flat) at a constant velocity. If the sticker got torn halfway I stopped and started at the other end of the sticker.

Like @Miitch says brakedisc cleaner will loosen most of the glue residue, enough to take it off with a cloth at least. Use a clean part of the cloth each time because otherwise you'll just smear back the glue.

Hmm yeah colours, I'm gonna put the 5800 parts on there and judge again :)

  • imo 5800 parts would look good just not chainset, maybe rotor?

  • +1 SRAM Force, black tyres.

  • Can't change the groupset anymore, been delivered last week. I want to get this on the road for spring, budget, etc. :)

28mm black tyres, definitely considering that. Looking at Michelin Pro 4's at the moment.

  • If those gumwalls go the way of for sale......

    #dibz

  • Assembled/dry fitted the 5800 parts. Really happy with the way this is coming together. Nitto bars look and feel ace too.

(Gonna put it up against a lighter wall next time)

Decided to get the fork and stem profesionally clearcoated to have a more durable finish. Paint flakes a bit too easily at the moment.

  • I retract. 105 black looks boss.

  • Love it. Too cool for school!

  • Nitto bars look awesome!

  • absolutely ace!

  • Had to order a different stem :/ because the reach is a tad too long at the moment. Found this nice Tig welded steel stem on eBay, 26.0mm clamp and cheap! (HHSRB points too)

Will get the same neon/splatter treatment of course.

  • Aggressor! Roar!

  • This should have Ultegra, as it would've had when it was launched. I had the 2100 which was 105 equipped.

  • For 2016 the Tiagra range has been bumped up to essentially contain all the guts of 2015 105. Likewise the 2016 105 has been bumped up to 2015 Ultegra level, so while it doesn't have the badge it is the equivalent of 2015 Ultegra, but more affordable and more badass in black. That 105 chainset is one of my favourite road chainsets

  • Ideally yes, budget wise I can't justify Ultegra at the moment. Ultegra and 105 are close to being identical mechanically and functionally.

  • Build is going slow but at least this trivial issue is out of the way. Cable outers:

    Pink glitter.

  • Perfect choice!
