I'm big but run my bars pretty close now (had to because I kept bending stuff at wider positions). Is it always fat bastard = Open suit?
In real terms though what sort of benefits are we talking for another £300? Or should I skip that option, see you again and get a custom CFD suit? I only need to knock another minute off my 10 PB and I'll be done with this TT arms race.

Depends on how they sit on whatever wheels you're using, innit? Max aeroz + fully sick rolling resistance reductionz = Fabian danstuffellara
-
• #11954
Well, indeed. Zipp say 23c front and 25c rear for max aeroeyness, but I'm assuming the rear wheel is less significant than the front. I suspect either will be faster than the Corsa IIs I've currently got on the P2, so I'll keep telling myself it's win/win.
Liking Fabian danstuffellara. Although I'm aiming for Danley Wiggstuff, TBH.

FC? 22f 24r Cronos gotta be a pretty good combo.
-
• #11956
Yep, FC. 808 FC front, Super9 rear.
-
• #11957
Or VF Record

Contemplating a pair of Veloflex Record and latex tubes for HCs. Like a poor / thinking man's tubular setup.
-
• #11959
Probably not a bad idea. Or you could use tubs.
-
• #11960
That would require a whole different set of wheels though. This way I can roll on GP4000s ii over the summer and switch to tissue-paper tyres for the end of the season.
-
• #11961
Or you could use tubs. If you don't have a special set of wheels just for going uphill then you're really not trying.
-
• #11962
On the contrary, I'm trying harder!
-
• #11963
Oh yeah, I forget people do that training thing rather than just maxing out equipment gains.

taken my TT bike out into the real world a few times over the last few weeks, amazing how much more comfortable it feels than on a turbo, despite dropping the front end about 30mm after the end of last season, was just about able to hit my power targets this morning doing loops of H10/2 on the way to work, couldn't be bothered doing a complicated loop to get from there to Marlow so went down the A404 for a bit :O should be entertaining next Friday!

• #11965
Is there a start sheet for that yet?
Hope it's warmer than last year.
-
• #11966
Entries are still open!
-
• #11967
I thought they closed 2 weeks before? Fucksake, I miss one because it closes too early and now this one hasn't closed. Stupid 10s. You wouldn't get this shit with a 24hr :)
-
• #11968
what @specialist said.
closes today, so id expect start list at the weekend...?
my club has been pretty active at signing up, does it usually fill up, slightly concerned that there may be a few disappointments....
-
• #11969
I don't think its ever filled. Getting more popular though.
-
• #11970
It has been a 90 rider limit in the past. I think that has been relaxed last year and this, though personally I'm not sure it should be without moving the start earlier.
-
• #11971
How much do you want for the Vuka's? They are clips and pads only? No risers or bars?
-
• #11972
in fairness, I should be ok with a 21:48, so I'm not too fussed, its the first open a lot of them have entered, and I'm not sure they've all grasped that entering online doesn't actually guarantee a spot...
-
• #11973
Is it one or two weeks beforehand Opens usually close? Maybe I'm getting confused with audax entries.
Not sure about the size of the field last time, I can't find a full result list.

Is it one or two weeks beforehand Opens usually close?
It's the Tuesday 11-12 days before the event for Saturday/Sunday events, I think it's 10 days for Friday events. All the default closing dates are in the Regulations.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I wasn't making it up. Didn't realise there were different times for Fri starts. Must be closing soon. I was more keen on riding a different course but dopey fuckers can't be choosers.
Time to start fitting tyres to the wheels on the P5. Vittoria Cronos (22c front, 24c rear) or Vittoria Corsa Speed G+ with magical graphene (the thinking man's magnets - 23c F&R)?
