Sad to hear that, I couldn't see what had happened, just saw a bus at a funny angle. Hope everyone is ok.

Fair enough, but it's still pushing it. After taking the time to log on before you left the house, you'd have to establish where exactly the hold-up was, then plot a new route, which may in turn be interrupted elsewhere...
Isn't one of the points of commuting on a bike the fact that we're fairly inured to all of this? We're able to manoeuvre round static vehicles, improvise short-cuts, dive down side-roads.

This particular one was useful for me as I was going from Southbank to the 5-a-side pitches next to the Imperial War Museum to play football last night at 6pm. I took the back roads past Morley college to avoid the closed road.

I'm not knocking the idea; I suppose part of me quite likes having to deal with situations as they arise, taking evasive action. I guess it also depends on how well you know your way around London.

Avoid OLD KENT RD/NEW CROSS RD
Don't usually do this because the OKR does have potential to jam up a bit of an evening at rush hour but tonight it's outdone itself. It's a proper car park, no apparent reason as of yet and as per usual expect Camberwell and Blackheath to be shagged as well.. So yeah, avoid.
But if you would enjoy the idea of small talk with bus drivers/van geezers/motorcyclists and people on other modes of transport that you wouldn't normally have small talk with then go nuts.

Traffic will be getting progressively worse on Green Lanes, Harringay over the next month or two. The bridge at Wightman Road is being replaced so Wightman Rd (the other half of the "Ladder") is becoming access only.
Theoretically the length of Wightman will be open to bikes so there may be the option of riding down Wightman and going over the footbridge at Harringay station to avoid the traffic.

I do Green Lanes southbound in a morning, but Wightman could be pretty good to ride on for the next few months. There'll be a temporary footbridge while the main one is replaced which will just mean dismounting.
I'm (very optimistically) hoping that the chaos caused by this doesn't turn out to be that bad. It would be amazing for Wightman and the ladder to be restricted on a more permanent basis.
Drinks on me when Putney Bridge reopens !
