Then your post reminded me that his irony-senses are pretty weak sometimes (when, as you rightly say, he's a busy man...).
There's no justifying it... I interpret words online quite literally. Especially when I jump into a thread and have little to no context and awareness for whatever has been the general mood up to then.
Yeah I'm busy, but I give fair warning that if I'm ever called in to a thread that little good comes of it ;)
