Sorry to hear about the crash, MetalMelly. Out of interest, which junction on Seven Sisters Road was it? (There are a couple of Underground stations along it.)
-
• #11753
I'd assume it would be the Seven Sisters tube junction as he mentions the A10.

Lovely rides today. Not too much wind, dry and bright and perfect conditions for a skidfest. Must swap front and rear tyres to even up the wear though. Lots of nice considerate drivers and no murderous dicks encountered. Huzzah!

^^ I was wondering what rat-running movement the driver might have attempted. I assumed from MetalMelly's description that he must have been turning right into Suffield Road, but that doesn't really make sense unless he had earlier been blocked by other drivers from turning right into the A504 West Green Road.

Dry and sunny on way in, met colleague.
Pishing wet on way home, got splashed by a bus going through a puddle, traffic totally gridlocked...but not for me as I could nip last it. Teehee :):)
Felt sorry for motorists as my last unexpected random traffic jam was way more frustrating than a rainy cycle home...

Ah yes, I thought he was coming up the A10, not Seven Sisters.

Late lunch meant super sluggish homeward commute. First time the hour buzzer went off on my garmin.

What a pleasant cycle. Avec beaucoup de Tom Oldham shizzle! Brill!

I was just there. Great photos. Which one did you pick? I got the photo of the three riders.

How could it work that fat young people have to prove a certain calorie burn before they are allowed on buses?

And should there be whips employed in rush hour London overground trains to ensure passengers move into the carriages?

I, maybe, got a little greedy - and arrived early. Great photos indeed! I got one of each HHV legend.

Probably best not to put a worn rear tyre on the front...

+1 ^^
Shag out rear tyre.
Put front tyre on rear.
Buy new tyre put on front. -

My first ever attempt at Vauxhall Bridge tonight (having previously only ever crossed the river further east).
I think I must speak for everyone who tries that set of junctions for the first time when I say: "Um... wait where was I meant to... hang on a sec... oh fucking hell."

Fair comment but rear still has plenty tread, just not as much as up front which looks pristine. Same tyre & vintage so swapping should be OK and I expect wear would even out in a while.
Main problem is I just like skidding.

Yes but: rear tyre blow out is annoying; front tyre blow out is dangerous.

Commuted home via Oxford Street from Ox Circus to New Oxford Street. Fuck me it's awful around there.

Bit of a shouting match with some cunt this morning, his hi-viz jacket dangling off the ladder attached to the top of his estate car.
With the light red, he decided (before eventually going straight on) to straddle the solid white line of the CS7 and move firmly into the ASL.
When I filtered up the right and positioned myself in front of him (OK, mostly to make the point that he shouldn't be where he was), a shouting match ensued. He was apoplectic that I had moved in front of him, I pointed out the road markings he had just completely ignored. Gave as good as I got.
Kudos to the roadie who tried to calm him down. I just wasn't in the mood.
Otherwise a rather glorious morning.

In December I moved to a new place that's only about 300m from where I work... I still ride in... 😐

You knew someone was going to do that didn't you.

Lovely morning, although was disconcerting with so many drivers overtaking on a 20mph road between Herne Hill and Crystal Palace (I was doing 22mph).
-
• #11774
Well, if the road was going at 20mph and you at 22mph, the drivers only had to do 3mph to overtake you, which seems easy.
