Dodged both, watched The Martian instead.
Thought I wouldn't enjoy it, and it is now a solid favourite of mine.
Not been that tense in a film in ages. -

Read the book as well, it's great. Even after the film.

^I think it's probably better that way around. Some of the tension was removed from the film for me, having already read the book I knew what was going to happen.

Not been that tense in a film in ages.Yeah, even with Matt Damon having nearly 100% screentime, I really enjoyed it.
Ah, it was directed by Ridley Scott - He should do more Sci-Fi.....

The trailer for that was funnier than the whole of Zoolander 2. Unsurprisingly.

Watched The Lobster last night. Not really sure what to make of it. I don't think I liked it.
The first hour was quite funny and weird, but after that I just found it incredibly irritating, it really dragged on and i was glad when it ended.
The whole Wes Anderson-style stunted dialog and robotic underacting thing really irritates me - especially when the cast is full of good actors. It just seems like a lot to give up for the sake of a gimmick.

Ghostbusters trailer just went up and it looks baddddddddd.
-
• #12443
looks like this summer is all set for dumb ghost stories.
-
• #12444
also - how fucking hard would it have been to make the token black character a scientist, just like the white people.
-
• #12445
don't be silly black people aren't allowed to do science.
-
• #12446
[not very] Interestingly, it seems original token black guy was the smartest, most capable of the bunch. So they've gone out of their way to make token black lady as dumbed down as possible
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winston_Zeddemore
In the original script for Ghostbusters, Winston Zeddemore was intended to be the smartest and most capable of the Ghostbusters, a former Marine with multiple degrees and a Ph.D., making him more suited for the job than the founding three Ghostbusters.
