There are bag searches. You're supposed to empty out/drink any bottles they find, apparently saying 'They're to take home with us afterwards' is the magic phrase to get them in*
*though this was for bottled water rather than beer

Excellent advice, maybe I'll just go with the hip flask. Cheers.

We're going to saturday evening, so will need to eat. Any decent options there or is it a 20 minute queue for a wet sandwich for a fiver??

Kenny, Trott and Varnish have been complaining in the press I notice.
Trott said "We have got to have a life outside of cycling. If you get so wrapped up in just being here [the Manchester Velodrome], all you would do is ride around in circles and sit on a sofa all day. I don't think you can live a life like that. - See more at: http://road.cc/content/news/180818-gb-track-riders-treated-kids-says-jason-kenny#sthash.0XTQtvht.dpuf"
To be honest, if it's coming up to an Olympics, that's exactly what I'd expect them to do

could anyone point me toward a livestream perhaps?
no daytime tv coverage in NL (UCI channel also only from 20:00h on) and I'd like to see (among other races) how Theo Bos does on the 1 km tt
cheers

I was on start gate duty last night (back straight), Women's Team Sprint Final, Russian girl wobbled out then stacked her bike.. But she won Gold on the restart on my gate which made me feel alot better. Also had Anna Mears in the gate too.
Track Centre atmosphere was epic.
Back later for the evening session including Women's Keirin Final, Women's Scratch Race Final, Men's Team Pursuit Final.

That was some monstrous wheelspin!! Mega power and good on her for getting her head right to go hard again

So what new drug have the Italians found?
"Cassani added that, “this isn’t a surprise. We have a really strong team"
A strong team that was 7s slower and last a few weeks ago? A strong team that's almost the same team that was 10s slower 12 months ago?
Who gave the Italians the extra round wheels?

Was it established if there were any external factors to her wheel spin, or did she just have too much weight at front of bike?

External factors?

Boss wouldn't be happy, good job they pulled it back.

Looks like she went slightly early, so her wheel started spinning before the gate opened.

I can't find any coverage of the races, is it on tv or streaming somewhere?

The same bike they had in Hong Kong?
They did a 4:02 in HK which wasn't that bad against the other teams. Hmm, I thought they were slower.

@rodman too, merci beaucoup
edit - ah, it's not shown live then

Earliest coverage I can find is 4.30pm on Eurosport. Likely some XC Skiing will overrun so not holding out much hope on that start time.

I love XC skiing. Always good for an afternoon snooze outside of F1 season.
Is there a decent bar in the place? Don't suppose I can get a few cans in, are there bag searches?
