That is a very kind offer.
If I may, I would like to have a think, then get back to you.

I agree RE: the dates thing.

I have had a price back from fifth column.
It looks like £13.50 per shirt - which includes a £2.00 forum donation.
Post, if necessary will be at cost (to make life easy, call that £1.50 anywhere).

Yeah, I am working tonight, any I want to talk to pjay to finalise the design.
Then I will pm everyone re: size, colour, delivery & payment.

I agree with people saying that the quote just doesn't flow with the colon and list-like formatting. Whilst I can see how that makes more design-sense, the raw quote is a beautifully concise statement and dragging it out like that ruins its flow.
I'm aware that I'm not on the list, but that's only because I was waiting on the design proof before making a decision.
If you haven't finalised yet, then please add me as a +1 for the boring:

I just got a tshirt through from a Humble Bundle from months ago. It's an American Apparel brushed cotton or something. Fits good and is SO SOFT. I think the tees need to be on this kinda material.

Here is the design I am going to run with:
Huge thanks to pjay for all your help, and thanks also to branwen for your input.
The spelling error on the full quote will be corrected before going to print.
It will be printed on Continental N03, which can be viewed on the fifth column web site.
I will PM everybody on the list either tonight or over the weekend with order info.
In the meantime, if anyone else wants one, go for it.

Huge thanks to you (and Pjay and Branwen) for getting this off the ground!
But I thought the idea behind this, was that it should be the forum motto (props to the whoever suggested that...).
So without a "LFGSS" somewhere on there, I feel that the joke is missing it's punchline.
(A big "LFGSS" across the chest, with the quote superimposed on it?)

How about this? :-)

I get what you are saying, but we'll all know it's an LFGSS thing, because we're all 'on here'.
In that way, it's esoteric, and that's not a word I get to use that often these days.
Personally, I would probably prefer it if the T Shirt had a list of all the purchasers on it, but unfortunately we can't all have it our way.
I think the design we now have looks great as a T Shirt, makes good use of the original quote, and pays due respect to the sadly departed Umberto Eco.
I have to go with something, so I'm going to go with this.

i support the benevolent despot
But the list setting doesn't make sense! As a short quote it flows so nicely when you read it/ hear it in your mind, but the pause caused by the colon and the weighting of the following words makes the rhythm of it less nice. Imagine if you didn't know the quote already, and read it for the first time in the list form. I guess I think it's kinda neat as a visual, but doesn't go with the actual words.
I also like the dates because, y'know, he's dead.
