Was thinking about getting a Plug 111 but have just taken delivery of some carbon forks with no hole leading up to the steerer.
I wonder how silly it would be to drill a wire thin hole up through a carbon fork?

Friend did this with some whisky forks on their 29er, seemed fine but then again they only weigh 55kg...

Cheers, that sounds slightly fiddly/annoying, a switch would make sense, my mate is a electrician I might see if he can suggest a good discreet solution. It would be cheaper to get a the USB integrated thing too I guess.
Ordered a werk so will get my mate to take a look and if too much bother will return it.

Has anyone been able to find/create an adapter to mount a Supernova light in a GoPro bracket? I'm thinking about a Garmin/GoPro handlebar mount, but with the light beneath
The light would be a Supernova E3 Triple 2, that has a round beam, so if I mount it inverted will make no difference.

are you sure the supernova e3 has a round beam, the one I have is mounted upside down but has a horizontal cut off on one side, think it's to stop the light when mounted correctly from blinding drivers through the rear window..

PS: Supernova has two models:
- Supernova E3 Pro 2 (flat beam for roads, thats the cut off your talking about, but it has about 205 lumens)
- Supernova E3 Triple 2 (round beam for mountains and trails with 640 lumens) It's illegal in German roads, because it can blind oncoming traffic. But many TCR/TransAm riders have used them... I think just pointing them a bit down when there's traffic, and up when there's a hardcore descent/section
Well there's also a Pure model with 205 lumens too, but just didn't care to read what's intended to be used for
- Supernova E3 Pro 2 (flat beam for roads, thats the cut off your talking about, but it has about 205 lumens)

The Pure is the one I have, it has a road beam pattern. It is perfectly adequate for even the darkest tree-tunnelled country lane, you squint a little bit when it's wet and the road surface turns deep black. It's got no on-off switch so might be no good if you're concerned about conserving those few watts during daylight.

Triple is bright, lots of pissed off faces riding towards me on the river lea towpath of an evening. I'm alright though so fuck em.
I also have an Edelux II on another bike but keep getting hit in the face by branches. The light cut off at waist height is very sudden. You can see the path beautifully but I had one too many nose bleeds.

The pure is more than enough, but if you're a bit affraid of the dark (like when cycling in foreign countries) then the most output you'll have the happier you'll be.

I'm not afraid of the dark, it's a simple case of brighter lights up further down the road which allows you to ride faster. I'm often 'outrunning my lights' on audaxes because I only use my smaller lights and run them low to save batteries. When I'm racing 24s I crank the power up so I'm confident of seeing potholes, corner apexes, etc.

Yep, pretty right.
But the pure is powerful thanks to greats optics, indeed.
I usually ride my bike up to 50+ kmph during descents, never had a single issue if your light is correctly fitted.
However during cornering I sometimes use a headlight on my helmet to see where i'm going before the handlebar turn -

Yeah, that was one issue at the Worlds - there was a fast dog leg turn so I'd exit a right-hander and then couldn't see the left-hander because my handlebar light was still pointing to the right. I overshot the turn a couple of times going too fast and would actually flick the bars mid-turn to help spot the corner apex. Sketchy... and this was on a course that I've ridden before, for an entire day! Not on unknown roads.

That's why a supernova Pure light on the bike and a 200 lumen cheap headlight on the head is perfect.

That's not the same. With Luxos: huge hotspot in the middle, sharp corners. With supernova: a car lookalike beam.
I love my supernova, the Luxos just works well but nothing fancy. It's quite bulky (plastic everywhere) and I dislike this beam because it's really "square" with bold edges. I don't know how to explain it but my Supernova beam is much more appreciated when riding: without blinding cars I can see really far. Luxos are quite good for a daily bike, or a functional one. But with Supernova lights you're not bothered - during night, the road is lighted up like during day thanks to the nice beam and output. The Luxos overexposes the near field quite close the bike too...
