Rad love a bike that's just used for eeeeverything.
Looks great with gumwalls
-
• #3
I really liked gumwalls but haven't found anything close to durano. :/
-
• #4
There is a gumwall thread arouNd somewhere, maybe try there.
Paselas are the trendy gumwall of choice but depends if the are fit for purpose
-
• #5
Slowly but moving forward. Just received replacement chainring.
-
• #6
the build is nearly finished. BTW it's the last one ever Seta sold by dolan bikes.

Carbon rims! Carbon rims! Carbon rims!

• #8
schwalbe durano weight weenie ? hmmm
-
• #9
260g for tire that rolls good and really fukin last. If you know something that is lighter and as same bullet proof let me know
-
• #10
Nice hubs give them to me
-
• #11
durano on the back, gp4000 on the front...
-
• #12
I don't like mismatched tires, but gp4000 is an option
-
• #13
Goal is under 6kg. Any light chain recomendations?
-
• #14
tbh the chain is the last place I'd want to skimp on a brakeless bike. get a decent chain and loose weight elsewhere.

^Is the correct answer!
Is the stem genuine Ritchey? If it's a Chinese copy be very careful, I bought one, looked at the build quality and binned it instantly. But hey, they're your teeth!
Cheap 100g saving is Conti GP Supersonic tubes, but fit them carefully, they are fragile.

Izumi Eco was the lightest track chain I could find when I was building up my slaveWeenieâ„¢ victoire. There might be lighter chains out there but the Eco was the lightest one I could find with a listed weight. You could also shave a bit of weight by getting rid of the stock alpina headset.

Go 3/32 and use a 9/10spd chain.
There's literally no weight to be saved from a headset, they're all the same.
-
• #18
Go down to 165 crank lenth, that's almost 5mm of alloy in weight saved #amikidding

Go 3/32 and use a 9/10spd chain.
You doing this on your Cervelol?
-
• #20
No. If I was starting afresh I probably would, but I've got too much 1/8 stuff to make the switch. Hilllclimb bike is 3/32 though.

Cranks are 167,5 so not much to save here, headset is already switched for ritchey wcs. seatpost, stem, bars and headset are all genuine ritchey components. Is it izumi eco any good? Listed weight is what i am looking for.

Weather today was too damn good not to ride this beast so i put on some pistards and did some kilometers. 50/14
-
• #23
50/14 must have sucked if you're averaging 16.4mph
-
• #24
avg low cus strava didn't auto stopped.. 50/14 because i couldn't unscrew seized cog. downhills was fun tho

So i sold seta :( and bought a pre cursa so this thread is going to be about one of the lightest pre cursa.
Started as weight weenie build transformed into daily bike. Right now i clearly know how I want it to be built. So this thread is final stage in process. Still needs custom built carbon rims, carbon saddle and new drivetrain because old one is worn down after winter.
