Is that too old? 500bhp and about 1800kg.
Bit too old, yep. All the ones I can find (easily) are pretty leggy, apart from one where the owner is asking a rather ambitious £20k for it. And, for reasons I can't even start to explain, I'm just not a Merc chap.

Given that it includes a 250 GTO, 10 million Euros is a steal for that lot. Now, where can I find 10 million Euros quickly?
-
• #26780
you only need to find 9,990,000 i've got the other 10 large
-
• #26781
Excellent! I'll chip in another 10 large. Now all we need is 998 mates with 10 big ones to join in and we're good to go.

I bet that bmw was a good car until the last owner got hold of it.
What's the story with them, loads near me around a grand too. Repair bills?

Swapped the exhaust in my Volvo 240 this weekend, nice and simple, all came off and then went together fine (Although I did need to use an anglegrinder).
Took me about three hours, but.......while doing it noticed the rear shocks are leaking fluid so will need to do those next (well, before the mot in June).before and after pic here (not even the worst bit):

Got yet another list of shit to do to the Mazda. Old cars, who'd have them?
-
• #26785
I'd always choose an old car over a new one.
New cars are utterly soulless.

When did cars lose their souls?
-
• #26787
They didn't lose them, they just haven't had the chance to develop them.
-
• #26788
And they all look the same.
-
• #26789
good answer. So which of today's cars will develop a soul then?
-
• #26790
I'm going for midrange crossovers

Got to admire how few options you get on the new M2. They could do it in red tho, ffs

Anything that has a long term owner - when I say long term, I mean more than a decade.

After all the Golf advice I'm thinking I'm going to get this... 0-60 in 6.5 secs the Renault Sport Megane, they are cheap too, mainly because the styling is divisive, I don't mind it...

Had the three door version as a courtesy car whilst I was having the car park dents removed from some generic box years ago.
What a hoot!

225 bhp, proper turbo... and I can get a really decent low miler for sub £4k.
Win!
Need to go and drive one, but from what you've said above I'm already excited.

I test drove a citroen VTR which is only 180bhp in comparison but was very punchy and i think better looking, around the same money (maybe a bit less)
maybe worth considering?

Anyone ever driven a Clio 182 Trophy or Cup?
-
• #26798
The C4 is nothing compared to the Megane.
Megane is a good choice.
-
• #26799
Why not 4 door Megane Sport if kids?

Budget XJ6 or XJ8?
XJ prices are insanely low for what you get, so if you're going to spend £1k on a car for motorways you might as well sit in a nice, quiet, comfortable, fully-equipped place while pretending you're a '90s Prime Minister ;)
