  • I find anything from 35–42mm most comfortable, it's the closest focal length to the eye, I think. Not exact but close.

  • The eye is about equivalent to 48mm I thought. I often shoot with both eyes open on my 50mm for street shots, to see what's going to enter the frame.
    Edit: apparently I've made that completely up, but the 50mm thing still works for me. Though I'm talking about my m3 which has 50mm frame lines and is actually slightly wider so maybe more like 45mm

  • My eyes can't handle both eyes open, it's really annoying. Although maybe I'm focussing too much on composition and should let my brain do what it feels best. My grandfather once taught me to keep my horizons level and it's been hellish to get rid of that tendency, he did me no favours with such a bad tip!

    @miro_o Ah right, that makes sense. But yes, very complicated. One for the lens grinder to worry about tbh
