The seat post situation hasn't worked out as planned. The Shimano 600ax one arrived however it is a little too fat to fit in. I'm contemplating filling off 1mm on each side to make it fit. The post is really thick so it shouldn't make a difference structurally.
Sand it down, it will be fine. Ive done the same to stems/seatposts to fit french sized forks and seat tubes. Just get loads of sandpapers and a file (I got one you can borrow) and remember to keep checking you've sanded it down enough
