  • The camera isn't the problem.

  • The 'rule of thirds' can suck my balls. It was invented by photo dorks and is a bastardisation of the greek geometry (which actually is worth knowing).

  • You know that feeling when you post something on a thread and no one even comments or notices at all and you are all like "huh" but also all like "yeah so what, its only the internets" and also like forever alone?

    That.

  • Take it as a compliment ;)
Looked at that photo quite a lot now - it's got a lot going for it, especially from a phone.

  • I'm so needy!

    Thanks.

  • Looks 10 times better viewed on my PC vs my phone, it's just to small to see the detail on the phone.

  • Too much HDR for me. I'm such a critic today. Maybe because I had to sit through an hour of shit with a "lead creative" who waffled about impossible ideas.

Also, I cant take photos to save my life, so prob worth ignoring.

  • You don't really. Have a look at some of the pictures people have taken with an iPhone 4.

Oh everyone else already said that. I agree that it would be better taken dead on.

Too much HDR kills photos for me too. If you get the photo properly exposed in the first place you don't need it.

  • Who needs the Sun? // Spent 10 minutes trying to straighten it up but perspective always changes, shamelessly VSCO'd within an inch of it's life, but I like the block colours of Red-White-Blue // Samsung Galaxy S6 // #architecture // 18.02.2016

(Apologies for the size, I've not spent the time working out Imgur's resizing buttons)

  • Nice one man, glad the entries are coming in now.

  • This is nice.... though I might have been tempted to add a little more sky, a little less street.

  • I agree, I wish I had been able to step back a bit further (Back was up against a building) and then crop it, especially to have 50/50 shade-light.

I'm envious of these workers having the option to pull down the blinds, I work underground across the road from here.

  • Didn't have a camera on me today but got a snap on the trusty old iPhone 4 I think I'll use, does it have to be hosted on flickr or similar, or can I attach?

  • So my choice of photo will most likely have to come from somewhere around leafy Broomfield, Essex by the looks of things

  • first post is accurate regarding the deadlines?

  • How does voting work?

    One vote per per person?

Open voting in the thread or secret ballot via PM?

  • That's nice @Vesalius, really cinematic.

  • One vote per person, I'm thinking voting in the thread as the previous weeks winner is going to be in charge of the next weeks vote counting.

  • Nice! Some pleasing geometry/perspective in there. I first saw it on my phone and thought it was b&w. 16:9 works well too.

    (Top idea for a thread)

  • Great entries @jambon @Murphys_Law and @Vesalius

  • I know its late but can I just add to the hashtag debate; if you add the hashtags it helps whoever is compiling all the images onto one page considerably as they can just type in the hashtag.
