@Colin_the_Bald It depends on whether the powder coat is going to come out glossier or duller than the clear coat will be. If it is a perfect match then just a couple of coats would do but if it looks odd you will have to do two coats on the whole frame. Make sure your paint and the frame are a nice room temperature and it can remain in that environment to dry. Clear coat is almost foolproof to use in the right conditions.
Thank you, that helps a lot, the frame will be high gloss so should be no problem. It needs to be pointed out that the clearcoat actually has to be within the skillset of an utter cretin......
