finished the witcher 3 heart of stone dlc, my advice if you do play it save before finishing the quests and pivotal moments as the first time through i picked a certain dialogue option at the end scene and it shaved about 10 minutes of game play off the ending was only because I wondered what would happen if i chose the other option that I reloaded and found out. wonder how much other gameplay I potentially lost and it's not like I'll play the whole game through again to re-try the dlc a different way.

Really enjoying Rise of the Tomb Raider, the puzzle are actually proper puzzle that required some out-of-the-box thinking (Siberia for instance).
I especially like the skill upgrades and the like, fast travel point is helpful not having to go all the way back.
My inner geek keep feeling horrifed every time something get destroyed tho, like they actually exist.

My problem with the puzzles is that Lara keeps talking to herself (are there subtitles Ed?) in game basically explaining what to do if you take any more than about 5 seconds to figure something out - basically assuming you're a complete idiot. She then repeats the same line every 10 seconds until the puzzle is complete. I swear to fucking god if she said 'Greek Fire' one more time....

Haven't really notice this (yes it does have subtitles), I recall there's an option in the setting menu to reduced the amount of "help" you get...

BTW, MORE FALLOUT!

Is Bioshock Infinite just running about shooting people with a las in tow? Feels a bit on rails...
-
• #14962
Might step up a level then. I'm on seasoned raider but might as well go to the final one for the second half of the game.
-

It aimed to be more shootemup, with a engaging story in it.
I quite like it tho, except for the lack of subtitles on the audio logs which riled me up sometime rotten (can only listen via transcript via the in game menu).

Ahhh, I see, kinda, just feels quite on rails to me.
Grabbed that Post Valentines day special off Steam so looking forward to some Golden Axe.
Big fan of steam, tempted by the controller, anyone using one? Think it has been talked bout before but.... -

You lot make me want to play/complete another TR.
Since the thinkpad is meant to be my word processing machine, it can just about handle JSR, and the old Tomb Raiders.... maybe I should track down the original three to play, see if I can get them loading from the hdd and running okay on Win7.

It is. Play it on Hard.

• #14967
Do it. I got a cheap xbox controller from ebay. Make sure you get the one that's compatible with Windows though (still works on mac).

• #14968
I feel I need to try one out first, might pop into my local Game or whatever...
Already have a wired Xbox controller but want to switch to wireless as its sooo much cleaner. -
• #14969
You still have to have a wireless adapter. You can run a PS3 controller with steam I believe, but Steam has all the support for xbox. And none for the Wii U Pro controller, which is really annoying, as I already have one of them, AND they are the most comfortable to hold.
Or just spunk £40 on a Steam controller. I hear they are good.
-
• #14970
Yeah, I don't fancy another wireless adapter (already have one for keyboard). PS3 controllers feel like hell after using xbox, so unresponsive and baggy.
Steam controller it is then.
Hows gaming going on your beast? Tried anything more demanding? -
• #14971
Yup. Firestorm & Alien Isolation all smooth on highest graphics. Haven't got new TR yet (can't justify full price until I've completed the above three), but looking forward to running that.

They are.
You have a wireless connector for the Steam controller too though. But it's a small one (1.5cm long or so)
-
• #14973
OHHHHH yeah... totally forgot about that.
Guess a small one will have to do, best I check how many ports I have free. -
• #14974
Good to hear first hand. Is it too much to ask just to make it bluetooth? WHY!?!?!

Already over halfway into RotTR, I'm finally allow to use the grapple hook.
The fuck?
WTF is going in here? Is this an internet joke?
