We've been here before, plenty of people are happy riding Pomps with forks which cost more than the frame.

This. Even if pomp is cheap, doesn't mean it's bad :)
I had ritchey wcs cross fork for a while, but the 400mm a-c wasn't so nice to drive. Didn't find any carbon forks with the original 390mm a-c so i got myself a straight blade steel fork.
